It would be useful to gather together a list of sources for the varying definitions of the Thames Valley, so we can eventually improve the article with a selection of them. I've started such a list at here -- Waterstones 11:38, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Area definition
- From the the source of the River Thames in the west to the M25 motorway in the east, encompassing approximately 15 miles either side of the river along the way, and thus including parts of the counties of Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Middlesex and Surrey.[1]
- The Thames Valley Police force area, comprising all of the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.[2]
- The Thames Valley University has campuses at Ealing in Greater London, at Slough in Berkshire, and at Reading in Berkshire.[3]
- The Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce covers the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.[4]
- ITV Thames Valley covers an area which also includes northern Hampshire.
