Hi Camila, I plan to review this over the next few days. I might take a while since I'm busy IRL plus I have other good articles to review. JuniperChill (talk) 14:48, 14 October 2025 (UTC)

Hey Juniper! Thank you for your work for it, this article is my first time nominee, kinda nervous, but I hope it can satisfy the conditions as well. Camilasdandelions (talk!) 15:10, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank you! I'm doing this as part of the GAN backlog drive. Right now, I'm quite tired seeing as I reviewed Laura Kenny, a huge article that is almost 3000 words. I should start the review after Laura Kenny is closed, which should be within a few days. This is my eighth GAN review, five of which were undertaken as part of the backlog drive. JuniperChill (talk) 17:43, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
Sure, take your time. I know it's tiring to review such a huge article, and I really respect that you've already reviewed nearly seven good articles! Camilasdandelions (talk!) 22:53, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
I have reviewed criteria 2-6 (except for spot checks). As its almost midnight for me (I'm from UK, like Paloma Faith is), I will do the prose review tomorrow after 18:00 BST as like I said, I'm busy IRL. JuniperChill (talk) 22:25, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
Green tickY OK. Take your time! :) Camilasdandelions (talk!) 22:41, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
I have reviewed the lead section. I will start reviewing the rest of the article ~12 hours from now as its almost midnight for me. JuniperChill (talk) 21:50, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
Sorry for the delay. I thought I was available today, but I had to do something IRL. I should finish the review by Saturday 23:59 BST JuniperChill (talk) 22:53, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank you, I've fixed all points that you referred. I tried to change the sentence to
Retropopmagazine's George McHugh described the album marked a welcome return to form, as her previous record, Infinite Things (2020), "often didn't pack the punch of her earlier releases."
Because Retropop said:
.. and across 'The Glorification Of Sadness' she remains distinctly in her own lane – a welcome return to form after her previous album, 2020's 'Infinite Things', often didn’t pack the punch of her previous releases.
I tried to keep the content and not to transform its original meaning. Camilasdandelions (talk!) 01:05, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
Ah ok. That's fine by me. I've done a spotcheck and identified a couple of problems. JuniperChill (talk) 22:17, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
I fixed all references you mentioned. Please check. Camilasdandelions (talk!) 01:32, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
You still haven't fixed the "On 21 February 2024" seeing as the BBC source has no mentions of "February" or "Feb" and was published on 15 March 2024. Or maybe I wasn't clear. JuniperChill (talk) 08:00, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
Fixed. I placed About Amazon's source in front of BBC source, as "21 February 2024" information can be found on About Amazon :). Camilasdandelions (talk!) 09:03, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
Great. I will now be closing this nomination as successful. Congrats on your first GA! JuniperChill (talk) 18:30, 19 October 2025 (UTC)

Prose review (1)

Lead

  • "The album features four singles: the lead single "How You Leave a Man", which Faith described as a life-changing moment; "Bad Woman", concerning female empowerment; "Pressure", a collaboration with Kojey Radical; and "Sweatpants", which was released alongside the album."
    • I have taken a look at other GA albums and none of them add further detail. I suggest rewording it to Four singles were released from the album: lead single "How You Leave a Man", "Bad Woman", "Pressure" and "Sweatpants".
  • "peaked at number two in the United Kingdom and Scotland"

Background and concept

  • "with whom she shares two children"
    • This sounds confusing to me as how does she share two children? It could be reworded to "with whom she has two children" or removed altogether
  • "she emphasized that she had no regrets, as their children were "worth it.""
    • is it supposed to be as her children were "worth it"?
  • "Writing for the album not only allowed her to reflect on that period but also served as an emotional outlet"
    • Add "it" between "but" and "also"
  • "Alongside the album, Faith is also working on a book that delves into the experience of being a woman in a post-feminist society." and "While she hopes for chart success, she values her relatability with listeners"
    • These sentences should be written in past tense

Composition

  • "Musically, The Glorification of Sadness incorporates elements of soul and R&B"
    • I'm not sure if "Musically" is necessary. (Side note, it brings me back into the social media site now called TikTok.)
  • "The Glorification of Sadness also captures a full emotional spectrum"
    • reword to "It also captures a full emotional spectrum" to reduce repetition

Promotion

  • "Following "How You Leave a Man", the singer released "Bad Woman""
    • Reword to Following that, the signer released "Bad Woman" on 24 November 2023. As well as reducing repetition, I also added the release date, seeing as the other singles in the article have them.
  • ""Pressure", with British artist Kojey Radical, was released on 19 January 2024 as a third single and origins from a chorus sent to her by Liam Bailey and was then co-written with Gez O'Connell."
    • This sentence is quite long at 34 words. I suggest splitting it as 25 is the recommended maximum.
  • "On that date, the song received a digital single, in addition to an exclusive pre-sale on Amazon for two physical versions of the song (on CD and 7-inch vinyl) released on 8 March 2024."
    • Similar to above as this sentence is also 34 words.
  • The tour section is written in a mixture of present and future tense. It should be rewritten to past tense seeing as the tour has likely concluded by now.

Critical reception

  • "Retropop magazine's George McHugh described The Glorification of Sadness"
    • Reword to Retropop magazine's George McHugh described it
  • "as a welcome return to form following 2020's Infinite Things, which "often didn't pack the punch of her previous releases.""
    • This part of the sentence is confusing to me, especially the part "as a welcome return to form"

The article cites reliable sources and contains no original research. I've looked at other GA albums (using 1989 (Taylor's Version)#Personnel and Project X (album)#Personnel as examples) and found out that the 'Personnel' section doesn't need a citation. Earwig returns a 17.4% violation unlikely. To do spot check after the prose review is done and I am now going to review criteria 3-6. JuniperChill (talk) 21:38, 15 October 2025 (UTC)

Done lead section checkY Camilasdandelions (talk!) 22:01, 16 October 2025 (UTC)

  • Spotchecking sources 3, 7, 14, 20 and 27 (according to this revision)
  • 7 - "I tend to think there's always an anomaly... and I want to be it." - The quote isn't mentioned on that source. "It also captures a full emotional spectrum, including moments of resilience and euphoria" isn't supported by the source
  • 20 - Source was published on 15 March 2024. It also doesn't mention "official" anywhere
  • Found no issues with other sources

Other criteria (3-6)

  • 3 -  Broad in its coverage - article addresses the main aspects and stays focused on the topic
  • 4 -  Neutral - article conforms to the neutral point of view
  • 5 -  Stable - no edit wars or content disputes recently
  • 6 -  Illustrated - Both the album cover and the audio sample have valid non-free use rationales. The other image is tagged with a valid copyright notice stating that it's free to use. All three are relevant to the article.
