Hi Valeree, thank you for the response. Yes we have significant coverage. The Lime Truck has won 2 seperate seasons of the Food Network's Great Food Truck Race (which is mentioned), the best food truck in Los Angeles by Eater & Thrillist, The top 10 trucks in american by Yahoo multiple years and more.

This is my first listing but noticed my good friend and previous business partner Jason Quinn has the mention based off of the same awards and this is the business being referenced. I hope I am doing this correctly but please let me know if you need anything additionally from me. I appreciate your help.

Hi, @Delicata. So, you're going to want to read the links I gave you that explain what the various criteria mean. These are Wikipedia's minimum requirements for having an article about a subject. For instance, we don't consider an interview a reliable independent source. Food Network is affiliated because they put on the show, so it's not an independent source. The LA Eater is basically written by (you?) so again not independent. The OC Register is probably enough to be source #1. That's local coverage, so the other two need to be non-local.

I’m updating the draft to rely on three independent sources with significant coverage (and removing/avoiding affiliated and interview-only sourcing for notability): TV Guide (2011) on the Season 2 win, Miami New Times (2011) with extensive live coverage of the finale featuring the truck, and Fox News (2014) with a dedicated “The Lime Truck” section in its national best-food-trucks feature. Would you please confirm whether these satisfy your “two non-local” requirement and are acceptable for AfC notability purposes?

I just don't really think it's enough. The first two are about the show, not the truck. The foxnews is just churnalism. The mobilefoodnews is a hyper niche source that also doesn't show any evidence of editorial oversight (the minimum standard for a reliable source), and it's the only one that is really significant coverage of the article subject. No worries, I'm happy to help. FFR, you can put single brackets around external URL(space)descriptive word(s) and it will turn into a link for easy access, like LA Times, LAist, ABC LA.

So, the LA Times is primarily about you. (I'm so sorry you lost your home! Those fires were so awful.) The LAist is also primarily about you. Ditto the ABC. All reliable, all independent, so that's good. But they aren't about the truck, which is the subject of this article.

If there has also been significant coverage of you outside of LA and outside of niche publications like mobilefoodnews, it might be possible to create an article about you, which we could then make a redirect to from TheLimeTruck. The above are all local to LA, which generally won't suffice.

For general background on why we are looking for at least a couple instance of sigcov outside of LA/niche publications: this is an encyclopedia about the entire world and every notable subject in it. In particular for people and organizations -- because so many people and organizations would like to have an article about themselves -- we want to make sure that person/org isn't simply locally well-known or well-known within a certain industry but actually meets the WP definition of notable. It's a maintenance issue, for one thing: someone unconnected with the person/org has to maintain the content to ensure it's neutral and updated. I understand now that the key requirement is finding significant, independent, non-local coverage specifically about The Lime Truck as the subject, rather than coverage focused on the show or primarily about me.

I took another focused pass and identified sources that I believe better align with those requirements, as they describe The Lime Truck itself (its concept, food, and positioning), rather than the television show or my personal story:

I'm afraid that Weather Channel piece looks like churnalism. It doesn't have a byline, the info looks like it was created from a form. The Daily Meal is simply brief listings, it's clear that writer didn't visit all those trucks. I can't get to the Straits Times, it says it's not available for viewing. That’s a big part of what people associate with the brand: yes, the Food Network recognition, yes, me as the chef—but most importantly, a food truck that consistently shows up and gives back.

That’s why I was a bit surprised to see the Associated Press and ABC7 pieces excluded. From my perspective, those stories reflect a meaningful part of what The Lime Truck is—not just what we’ve built, but how we show up, especially in moments where the community needs support (even when we’re affected ourselves).

Daniel, we don't exclude the sources. We just can't use all local sources to show notability of a business. Once we've shown notability, we can absolutely include content from those sources, but the first thing we have to do is show notability. Valereee (talk) 15:54, 18 April 2026 (UTC)

That said...did we see the AP story before? Sorry, I've lost track of what we discussed. That's non-local sigcov, certainly about you. Between that and the coverage of the TV show wins, I think Wikipedia could have an article about you. Then we just talk as much about the truck in that article as is appropriate, and we redirect Thelimetruck to that article. It's not the only plan forward, but I do think it's the best plan forward for now. One thing it does is collect the sources that are about Thelimetruck into that article, which means at some point, when there's further coverage, that article can be spun off.

You can start a draft. Use the three best sources that focus on you to create it, using only what's in those sources (rather than your own knowledge of yourself) and not worrying too much about including the truck. Then before submitting, ping me to it. I'll check it and let you know it meets the minimum requirements, and after that you can then use every other source to fill it in and include the truck, get it as full as you can and then ping me again. Once it's accepted, you'll need to stop editing and just make edit requests, so this lets you stuff it full before you have to stop editing. Valereee (talk) 18:38, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
