Largest protein

I was thinking of editing this section to reflect the publication on PKZILLA genes which encode for even larger proteins than titan. Should I do this (if I can - I never edited before) or wait until/if the protein molecule is characterized, rather than just the gene? MaryDixonDock (talk) 16:13, 9 August 2024 (UTC)

Infobox broken?

I recently opened the page and found that the infobox is extremely bulky with "titin1100001C23Rik2310036G12Rik2310057K23Rik2310074I15RikAF006999AV006427D330041I19RikD830007G01RikL56mdmshru" as an alias (I have no actual knowledge of proteins so I may be wrong but I don't think this is an actual name). I checked the history, no vandalism. I checked the infobox gene template and module, no vandalism either. So what caused this? Lazesusdasiru (talk) 20:00, 3 September 2024 (UTC)

The infobox is pulling data from wikidata. It should be pulling data from d:Q14865286, but instead was pulling it from d:Q14865287. I fixed this on the wikidata end by specifying Q14865286 corresponds to this article. Now the infobox displays in it normal width, but the PDB ortholog link seems to be messed up. Missing translations

This article exists in other languages already but the translation page for tis article only includes one translation option and the other articles on this protein don't include English. Is it possible to fix this? Jane nonagression analysis low light counter (talk) 18:00, 13 February 2025 (UTC)

Resolved:
Moved article in Wikidata from Q14865286, the protein-coding gene, to Q74314, the protein. Jane nonagression analysis low light counter (talk) 09:15, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
This caused a problem with the info box, resolved through specifying where it should pull its data from. Jane nonagression analysis low light counter (talk) 12:03, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

I do not believe this should have been archived, as we have a comment in the article warning people not to add the full name and telling them to look at the talk page. Then they look at the talk page and there's nothing there.

Hard to interpret image

There's an image captioned "Reconstruction of the thin (green) and thick filament from mammalian cardiac tissue. Myosin is in blue, MyBP-C is in yellow, and titin is in two shades of red (dark red for titin-alpha and light red for titin-beta)."

Looking at it, I didn't see anything I considered red, and also I thought both titin proteins were the same (pink) color and it was just shadows. Could I/we replace the image with a higher contrast version or something, and update the description? Hi,I'mKestrel (talk) 21:00, 31 January 2026 (UTC)
