The article is well written and provides a clear overview of the Uruguayan Regional Workers' Federation, including its origins, ideological background, role within the Uruguayan labour movement, and historical importance. The structure is logical and the prose is generally concise and neutral. The article is supported by citations and does not appear to contain original research, although some claims would benefit from additional citations from specialist historical works rather than relying mainly on broader summaries of anarchism and labour history.
The main area requiring improvement is coverage. While the article explains the federation's foundation and general role, it could provide more detail about its internal organisation, major congresses, relationship with other labour organisations, membership growth, major disputes, and its decline or transformation over time. More context about the wider Uruguayan labour movement and the influence of anarcho-syndicalism in early twentieth-century Uruguay would help readers understand why the federation was significant. The article would also benefit from a stronger discussion of the federation's relationship with the Argentine Regional Workers' Federation and other regional anarchist organisations.
The article maintains a neutral tone and presents the federation's ideology and activities in an appropriate historical context. The images, where present, are relevant and appropriately used. Overall, the article is a solid foundation but requires expansion of historical detail and stronger use of specialist sources before it fully meets the Good Article standard.
The article is close to GA quality, but additional historical context and broader coverage of the federation's activities and significance are needed before promotion.
- @HPGirl362: Hi, thanks for taking this on for review. Unfortunately, I'm rather confused by some of the issues you've pointed out here, as you haven't provided any examples of what you're talking about. When you say
"some claims would benefit from additional citations"
, which claims do you mean exactly? What sources do you believe are"broader summaries of anarchism and labour history"
as opposed to"specialist historical works"
? Why do you think extra context about all of this stuff is necessary; i.e. why and how do I need to elaborate further on"the wider Uruguayan labour movement and the influence of anarcho-syndicalism in early twentieth-century Uruguay"
, was three paragraphs of background not enough? How have I not elaborated enough on its decline and transformation, when there's an entire section with three lengthy paragraphs about it? Does the FORU leading multiple general strikes and forcing the passage of the eight-hour day not demonstrate"why the federation was significant"
? And why does its relationship with the FORA and other regional anarchist organisation need further elaboration, how would this article benefit from that exactly? I understand you're new to reviewing, so I hope you can take the time to clarify some of these queries I have. --Grnrchst (talk) 15:32, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
