- Wouldn't it be better to simply say "NFL player" rather than mentioning his position or weight? The main point here (that an American football player used to be a musician) is somewhat lost. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 10:55, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
- The weight makes it seem more entertaining, a 310 pounder who used to be a musician is more engaging than a random NFL player who could be 5'7" 150 pounds. I agree on the position part though. Dafootballguy (talk) 19:59, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
The article just barely above the 1500 character limit, so it's possible to expand it further I suggest doing that. Article created the day was moved to mainspace, and is free from close paraphrasing. Only the first hook meets WP:DYKHFC, so for the second hook to be eligible the footnote has to be duplicated. No QPQ needed for a first-time nominator. I'm not 100% down with either hook since neither group has an article, but there's no real prohibition against article-less nouns in hooks so I'm willing to let that slide. I have a slight preference for ALT1. As mentioned earlier, I don't think his weight is relevant to the hook, it's better to just say he was an American football player or an NFL player. I'll expand the article shortly, and then I'll see how to improve the hook. Dafootballguy | Want to talk? 19:27, 10 April 2026 (UTC)
- I'm really sorry for the delay! I had been unable to respond earlier due to real-life matters. The expansion is good. I think one last thing you can do is to write an alternative version of each hook that doesn't mention either group by name given their lack of articles (so "in a choir" or "in an orchestra"). I can leave it to the promoter which version to use. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 05:51, 16 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Dafootballguy: By the way, you may want to fix your signature moving forward as it seems to be causing formatting or display issues on this page. I had to fix your previous response earlier. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 00:20, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
Don't see any issues anymore so all the hooks are approved, with a preference for ALT1/ALT1a. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 14:26, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
