Tapajó people

Ethnic group of Brazil From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tapajós, also called the Santarém culture, are an Indigenous Brazilian people, who, in the 17th century, lived in the area around where the Tapajós flowed into the Amazon River, in the Brazilian state of Amazonas.[1] In the 1930s, anthropologist Helen Palmatary published important research on their ceramics.[2] In 2020, there were 241 of them.[3]
