Thaïs d'Escufon (born August 28, 1999 in Toulouse) is an antifeminist and French far right activist. She was spokesperson of Génération identitaire from 2018 to its dissolution by the French government in 2021.

Biography

Family and studies

Thaïs d'Escufon[1] is the pseudonym of Anne-Thaïs du Tertre d'Escoeuffant,[2][3][4] born (1999-08-28) August 28, 1999 (age 26) in Toulouse in a large Catholic family.[note 1] She grew in Haute-Garonne in Drémil-Lafage, ten kilometers from Toulouse.[1]

Activities and affiliations

She is firstly a member of the Action française,[5] then she joined Génération identitaire. In October 2018, she participated in an action against the premises of the ONG SOS Méditerranée.[6] She acquired significant fame in June 2020, during a counter-protest against the justice for Adama comity.[1]

With this fame, she became de facto and later officially spokesperson of Génération identitaire. She often intervened in medias as spokesperson of the organisation.[7]

From September 2020 to January 2021, she was community manager executive officer of the National Rally, Sébastien Chenu.[8]

In April 2021, after the dissolution of Génération identitaire with ex-members of the organisation, she created the ASLA, an association presenting itself as a whistleblowers protection association.[9][10][11][12]

During the 2022 French presidential election, she supported the candidate Éric Zemmour.[13]

In August 2024, she was recruited on Europe 1 as columnist for Cyril Hanouna's show On marche sur la tête.[14][15]

Court cases

Her political actions and statements involved her in multiple court cases.[16][17][18][19][20][21][22]

In December 2021 she filed a complaint for sexual assault and kidnapping. A man allegedly entered her home when she was returning from a sports session. She also stated that the man presented himself as a Tunisian immigrant.[23][24][25]

Political positioning

Thaïs d'Escufon is part of the Identitarian movement.[1][26] She relays on Twitter the theory of Great Replacement and affirms that she defends the "white race".[1]

A traditionalist conservative and antifeminist, she targets on YouTube an incel readership and belongs to the tradwife movement.[26][27][28]
