wait a minute, who are you?
Hi! I'm Star. I use the pronouns she/her and they/them. I have several interests, some are academic, but most of them are not very. I am an expert in nothing, though I am working towards an undergraduate degree in critical studies of literature.
subpages
literature
Literary movements that I find the most fascinating include: 19th-century Romanticism, aestheticism and Gothic fiction. Dystopian and Utopian narratives are also of interest to me, as I think each can help us reflect upon our own society and an individual's place in it.
history
I also find different moments in history interesting (though I am far from an expert on any of these) including: the Russian revolution of 1917, the year 1969 especially as it relates to American cultural history & technological advancements (particularly the Space Race), Classical Antiquity, and the Age of Discovery. The sociological implications of the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration is of similar interest to me. This list is dynamic and ever-expanding. Diverse historical narratives are important in my opinion, and I certainly do not endorse the troubling and violent implications/results of these historical events and/or eras. (something that I will say for the sake of you, the readers, so that you do not misinterpret my interest in these historical events). Though I love Romanticism I do not romanticize these events.
