User:Addict 2006/DefeatVandals

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Through random browsing (not the Random article thing), I end up clearing vandalism caused by "unknown" IP numbers and some names.

This user has a zero tolerance policy on vandalism.

Here's a list of the articles (Not user pages nor talk pages) I happened to clear vandalism off of (by defeating the vandals' actions).

2006

October

November

  • PBS (November 4, 2006) - Cleared then reverted
  • Deal or No Deal (November 5) - Cleared
    • Curiously, I'd like to know: How does the listing of "Countries that don't have the show" belong at all? The map's already colored with those that have the show!
  • Target of ALERT! 1: 24.190.12.249, who appeared to specialize in listing a false "zero heroes" show (not to be confused with the ACTUAL NBC show Heroes) as well as putting up "Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!" listings in unrelated places.
  • John Williams (November 25) - Cleared then reverted
  • LOL! (program) (November 26) - Reverted
  • Mingo Junction, Ohio (November 27 through Recent Changes) - Reverted
  • Portal:Arts/Featured article/November, 2006 (November 28, 2006 through Recent Changes again) - Reverted

December

  • The Real Slim Shady (December 2) - Incorrect statement changed
  • PBS Kids (December 2, 2006) - Vague statements and incorrect vandalism cleared, with one account of hiding stuff in comments temporarily. 3 parts.
  • PBS Kids GO! (December 2) - False programs cleared
  • Not Another Teen Movie (January 4, 2007) - False listing reverted

2007

January

February

Wikipe-tan's portrayal of being trolled upon, the main tactic used by the ALERT 2 target, aside from sock puppetry
  • Target of ALERT! 2: 68.60.251.223 aka User:Bbb00723 aka User:Kgb23, vandalized userpages (even mine) while accusing people of vandalism, while in fact he's the one vandalizing - it's the other way around. As well, he kept using a copyrighted Net Nanny picture for vandalism.
  • Jon Heder (February 24 through Watchlist) - Reverted bad table formatting
  • Message (February 24) - Removed bad tag
  • Coprophilia (February 24) - Reverted vandalism junk - Reminder: Wikipedia is NOT censored.
  • Jon Heder (February 24 through Watchlist) - Reverted unsourced junk, or at least what I thought

March

April

  • Jon Heder (April 9, watchlist) - Non-notable roles, potentially false
  • PBS idents (April 11, watchlist) - Persistent falsifying junk by the same vandal
  • Winx Club (April 15) - POV junk removed
  • Jon Heder (April 16, watchlist) - Blatant bad-wording ploys

May

I may have missed a few here or there between the preceding and the following listings.
  • Jon Heder (May 2) - Random formatting button mashing? Is that what it's called?
  • PBS idents (May 4 and 11, watchlist) - incomplete sentence of false junk ; as well, someone tried to introduce Disney to PBS improperly
  • Bill Nye the Science Guy (May 12) - Reruns are NOT new episodes. Telling it to the guy who kept assuming the 6th ident had played until '06 when in reality it stopped in '98 and became a rerun at times.
  • Ragdoll cat (May 13, recent changes) - one account sighted of personal commentary about cuteness, before an edit conflict and finally a fix.
  • Crocodile (May 13, recent changes) - point of view removed; used navpops but that didn't show up in edit summary
  • Juliet Capulet (May 22) - point of view removed

June

  • Mood ring (June 14) - butt part removed, although I had to have the statement removed before I checked the history.

September

  • Differences between book and film versions of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (huge title...) (September 2) - "Winky" was a failed attempt at a joke. Previously with diff=155260958 and oldid=155176389, the article does not exist anymore due to an AFD.

2008

January

  • Cloverfield (January 17) - Just due to seeing commercials before Star Wars fan films, I began to get somewhat interested in this movie (but I won't watch it). Well, someone put a derogatory message.
  • Image:Libertymendota.jpg (January 23) - Removed long-exposed vandalism (but forgot to log into Commons in the process)

June

  • List of Lucky Star characters (June 10) - Removed a fancruft "someone <3 with multiple 3s someone" statement claiming to add ages of two adult characters which it didn't
  • Game Gurus (June 10) - 3 months ago, someone took the time to smudge a reference to pop culture (which may be removed soon though)
  • ZOOM (June 18) - Someone snuck a disruptive edit into the 70s lyrics
  • Christian Bale (June 19) - Removed sneaky vandalism claiming World Wildlife Fund is masochist
  • Template:Out of date aka Outdated (June 21) - Breaking of template reverted

August

September

October

November

  • Game Gurus (November 29) - Unbased vandalism related to the word "Mau"

December

2009

January

  • 24 (season 7) (January 30) - Sneaky edits containing gender reversal and fan nickname respectively removed

February

  • Guinness World Records (February 1) - Blatant vandalism. Had an edit conflict trying to remove previous vandalizing edit.

May

  • Snow (May 14) - Possible vandalism removed.

June

  • File:Gmodb2007 TF2-1-.jpg (June 8) - Random removal of text reverted. ]

July

October

Actually forgot to list a few edits I have reverted between July and October.

  • Mortification of the flesh (October 10) - I was surfing an imageboard when someone pointed it out. And even if it was me, I would not have left that there.
