Life
His father was William Downie Stiven (1894 - 1982), a marine engineer from Fordell in Fife.
His mother was Isabella Oliphant Binning (1899 - 1992), a school teacher from Cowdenbeath in Fife. William and Isabella married at Cowndenbeath parish church on 19 June 1926.
Fred William Stiven was born on 24 April 1929 in Cowdenbeath.[3]
He married Jennie Isabella Paton. They married on 26 July 1951 at the Craigmailen church in Bo'ness.[4]
The couple had 4 children.
