Fictional airport article for fun
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Monkey International Airport (IATA: MNK, ICAO: IMKY) is a fictional international airport situated in Imaginary Aerocity near Monkey City in Marie Byrd Land, the largest unclaimed territory on Earth in Antarctica. The airport is spread over 3,000 acres, with a single runway at present consisting of a provision of adding another runway parallel to it in the future, and two terminals. The terminals are capable of handling 40 aircrafts at a time, 10,000 passengers daily and 40 million passengers per annum. Construction began in August 2022, and was completed and inaugurated in April 2025. It is specially built to boost tourism in Monkey City, renowned for its rich hidden, intelligent culture and heritage of monkeys in the frozen continent. This enhanced connectivity not only has helped Antarctica to be more accessible globally than ever before, but has also led to the socio-economic development of monkeys living in the unclaimed Marie Byrd Land, devoid of resident humans as a result, by providing them employment, education and helping them realise and reinvent their values and significance in this planet, when they used to be the ancestors of modern humans, lived and thrived like modern humans. The airport has also become famous owing to its close proximity to the South Pole.[2]
