I've spent the last 15-20 years soaking up more information on here than I'll ever possibly need (and occasionally contributed), so I figured it was about time I create an actual account.

I always was fascinated by Wikipedia's democratic approach to information while retaining safeguards to maintain the truth. I'm here because that - the truth - is one of the most important things to me, especially in the wild world we live in today, where misinformation and disinformation can be and is spread with the tap of a finger, and user access has far outpaced user media literacy. It's not something I think is "winnable," but I do what I can.

About me: Philly-born, Jersey-raised; joined the Air Force to see the world, commissioned and twenty days later was in New Mexico; Mississippi next (detour to Qatar was pretty cool), and I got out before they could send me to Kansas next; landed in New Orleans, where I remain.

As a hobby, I collect hobbies, as well as interests and trivia, but I won't get too into that here. It's a bit all over the place, to be honest.
