From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you haven't noticed, I am an avid data hoarder, and I try my best to keep a good list of archives of almost everything I might ever need an archive of. Wikipedia is a place full of dead and rotten links, so to avoid link rot, I've committed to archiving whatever data I frequently use.

This is a list of archives that I use, create, or maintain.

An appeal to other editors

I'm trying to have the descriptors be extremely predictable (e.g. pagasa-YY-XXW) for ease of use. If you're planning to upload the bulletins on your own under the next descriptor in the sequence, please notify me and please follow the format above as much as possible. Keeping everything predictable and easy to scrape or reuse is part of the reason why I'm archiving these anyway.

JTWC Archives

The JTWC Archiver is responsible for archiving JTWC Tropical Cyclone Warning Texts and Graphics (TCWT, TCWG) and Prognostic Reasonings for Tropical Cyclone Warnings. These archives are hosted off-wiki on my Wikipedia Tools server. You can find these archives at https://wiki.chlod.net/jtwc.

PAGASA Archives

I upload archives of PAGASA Severe Weather Bulletins on the Internet Archive, usually when the system exits the Philippine Area of Responsibility. All of these can be found in my Internet Archive library. All PAGASA archive descriptions in the Internet Archive have a description like the following:

Local name: '''LocalName'''
International name: '''InternationalName'''
JTWC Designation: '''JJW'''
Year: '''20YY'''
Basin: '''Western Pacific Ocean'''
Agency: '''PAGASA'''

This is a collection of Severe Weather Bulletins posted by the [[PAGASA|Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration]] (PAGASA) while the system was inside of the [[Philippine Area of Responsibility]] (PAR). System warnings are posted in 3-hour intervals at the peak of a system's activity in the PAR, and are slowly decreased in frequencies as the storm leaves the area.

The PAGASA is responsible for raising tropical cyclone warnings for all tropical disturbances near the Philippines. The PAGASA also provides names for tropical cyclones which are separate from their international names.

They also have a title that follows the format:

PAGASA Severe Weather Bulletins for CategoryAtPeak LocalName (InternationalName), 26

And follow the file name format:

PAGASA_YY-TCXX_LocalName_SWB#ZZ.pdf

In all of these, YY is the year code (20 for 2020, 21 for 2021, etc.), JJ is the JTWC designation for the storm (if JTWC warnings were issued), XX is the ordinal number of that cyclone (only those named by PAGASA) for the season (originally the given designation by the JTWC, in the format XXW instead of TCXX), and ZZ is the ordinal number of that bulletin (e.g. 20 for Severe Weather Bulletin #20, 21 for Severe Weather Bulletin #21-FINAL). NDRRMC Archives

NDRRMC Situation Reports are also archived yearly (or updated live, as reports are released). The description has a similar format to PAGASA SWB archives.

The title for these items follow the following format:

NDRRMC Situation Reports for Tropical Cyclones of 2026

And follow the file name format:

NDRRMC_YY-TCXX_LocalName_SitRep#ZZ.pdf

In all of these, YY is the year code (20 for 2020, 21 for 2021, etc.), XX is the ordinal number of that cyclone (only those named by PAGASA) for the season (originally the given designation by the JTWC, in the format XXW instead of TCXX), and ZZ is the ordinal number of that report.
