Mission Statement
I aim to grow human knowledge through collaborative editing and new articles. I value veteran expertise and the BRD cycle, though I believe the project thrives when reviews are based on objective guidelines rather than personal bias.. I am here to support Wikipedia mission by improving existing articles and expanding the encyclopedia by creating new ones.
Principles
- Flat Hierarchy: The highest position is editor. Roles like Administrator exist to support editors, not to rank above them.
- Newcomer Retention: The principle that "anyone can edit" and "anyone can create" must be protected. We must welcome new contributors with patience to ensure the project's longevity.
- No Battleground: Wikipedia is not a competition. Success is measured by article improvement, not by "winning" an argument.
- Verifiability: Accuracy is secondary to verifiability. What an editor "knows" is irrelevant if it cannot be proven through reliable, independent sources.
- WikiGnoming: Small edits are vital. Gnoming (fixing typos or formatting) builds reader trust through a professional appearance.
- Civility: Civility is mandatory. Provocation does not justify insults.
- Free Knowledge: This project belongs to the Free Knowledge movement. Promotionalism or protected interests hinder the mission.
- Consensus: Consensus is the final authority. Disagreement is not a license to edit against the community's collective decision.
