Kelly Sims Gallagher is the Professor of Energy and Environmental Policy at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.

Education and career

Gallagher pursued her undergraduate studies at Occidental College, later studying international relations at The Fletcher School obtaining a Masters and a PhD.[1][2]

She was a Senior Research Associate and Director of the Energy Technology Innovation Project at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.[3][4][5] In 2009 she joined the faculty of The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, as Professor of Energy and Environmental Policy.[2]

In 2013 she was appointed the director of the school's Center for International Environment and Resource Policy.[1][6]

Activities

She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and Member of the Board at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.[2][7][8] Kelly Sims Gallagher was a member of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science & Technology (PCAST) Energy Technology Innovation System Working Group co-chaired by Ernie Moniz and Maxine Savitz that contributed to the November 2010 Report the President on accelerating the pace of change in energy technologies through integrated federal energy policy.[9] For the academic year of 2014-2015, Gallagher was appointed Senior Policy Adviser at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy's Energy and Environment Division to work on climate change and energy policy.[10][11][2][12]
