I am a semi-active editor of Wikipedia since August 2022. I first edited the page of Bruno of Altena-Isenberg and since then I have mainly copyedited articles. My bigger edits include changes to the page of Bellingcat. I speak and edit in two languages, mainly in English, but also in Dutch. I became inspired to start editing by the user Joephuh, who's Wikipedia entry is very short :( ...
Personal life
I was born in The Hague, Netherlands and grew up in Gouda for the biggest part of my childhood. Born into an Indo family, I was surrounded by a mix Indonesian and Dutch culture while growing up. From using Malay words and small sentences, to the love of Indonesian cuisine and the appreciation of batik, this mix has affected my daily life significantly. While I used to lament being unable to feel fully at home in my own country, I have grown to accept it as part of my identity. Some parts of me belong in Indonesia, but most belong here, in the Netherlands. I'm no colonial romanticist. TheDutch East Indies are gone, and while I might techically belong there the most, we are all better for it.
During my secondary years I became interested in international politics and relations, and attended multiple Model United Nations conferences like Karmun in Budapest and multiple MUNs in South Holland. My MUN career culminated in organising and hosting one of the MUN editions of the secondary school I attended. Today, I am still a member of the advisory board of the MUN organisation at the school. My love for international relations remained strong throughout the years, and I began studying International Relations and Organisations in Leiden University in 2024.
Around the same time as I became interested in international politics, I started watching anime. I have a vested interest in the series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, of which I am a passionate enthusiast. Although watching anime still gives way to culture shocks here and there, I have learned to appreciate the craft and the stories along the way.
In my free time I illustrate, read books and Wikipedia-articles, and follow the news. I also play Dungeons & Dragons and am a dungeon master of my own campaign, although I would still call myself an amateur at leading sessions.
