User:FatherAriadne
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
FatherAriadne is the username of a 22-year-old Wikipedian. She chose the name after "Father Ariandel" was already taken, leading to a kind of parallel naming with "Ariadne." Despite never having played the game Dark Souls III (where Father Ariandel originates), she often listens to his theme song, admiring its dramatics.
Username origin
The username combines two sources:
- Father Ariandel - a character and boss from Dark Souls III, whose name inspired the initial choice.
- Ariadne - the figure from Greek mythology, daughter of King Minos, known for aiding Theseus in escaping the Labyrinth. The mythological Ariadne's association with guidance, threads, and labyrinths gives the name an additional symbolic resonance, contrasting with the grim atmosphere of Father Ariandel.
The blending of influences results in a name that is both mythological and dramatic, mimicking the music and stories that inspired it. Obviously, the name was chosen with great intention and definitely not randomly conjured up on a Tuesday afternoon.
