From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
RobTop Games is a Swedish independent video game development studio founded and led by Robert Topala.[1] It has developed multiple games, including the rhythm-based platformer Geometry Dash, which achieved widespread popularity. Robert Topala is also referred to as RobTop by the community and is also jokingly called "RubRub" and called "Zhenmuron" on Reddit and formerly Newgrounds. Aside from Geometry Dash, he also created the mobile game Rune, Boomlings, Boomlings MatchUp, Memory Mastermind, Forlorn, which was lost, until the TestFlight Terascrape revealed archived beta versions.[2] Robtop Games also developed the lite version of Geometry Dash as well as its spinoffs, Geometry Dash Meltdown, Geometry Dash World and Geometry Dash SubZero.

Comment: If this is for the studio, then it needs corporate depth in reliable independent sources, which can be difficult to obtain. Consequently most such companies cannot have an article. See WP:SIRS and the corporate depth section below. If it's for a product, that can be easier but still independent sourcing is needed, see WP:NPRODUCT. ChrysGalley (talk) 09:40, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

History
Robert Topala, the founder of RobTop Games, studied civil engineering when he first started exploring video game development. He made his first game called bouncy ball thingy and described it as a fun side project that might even get me a little spending money.
Geometry Dash
The experience in developing puzzle games helped RobTop develop Geometry Dash in four months. Geometry Dash was inspired by the recent IOS game called The Impossible Game.[3] RobTop also credited the community following of Geometry Dash as having helped the game grow and evolve through their support and feedback. One of the main reasons Geometry Dash blew up in popularity is because of the game's level creating and sharing feature, which gives players many creative opportunities as well as RobTop, who used ideas to innovate throughout the game's flow of updates, though the update 2.2 of the game took 7 years.
“The amount of user-generated content is insane, and the quality of many levels is truly amazing."
