Division II

  1. As of the 2022–23 academic year, Allen is in the second year of a three-year transition to Division II and will become an active member in 2024–25.
  2. Allen's women's soccer team competes as an independent.
  3. Anderson announced the addition of a football team, with plans to begin play in 2024–25.
  4. Claflin's baseball team competes in the Peach Belt Conference.
  5. Converse announced plans to introduce men's swimming beginning in Fall 2022, but did not compete that year.
  6. Erskine's football team competes in the South Atlantic Conference. It will transition to Peach Belt Conference in 2024, before moving to Conference Carolinas in 2025
  7. North Greenville's football team competes in the Gulf South Conference. In 2025, it will move to Conference Carolinas for football
  8. As of the 2022–23 academic year, USC Beaufort is in the first year of a three-year transition to Division II and will become an active member in 2025–26.
  9. USC Beaufort has planned to add men's and women's basketball in 2023–24 as a condition of its NCAA membership.

Division I

  1. Coastal Carolina's men's soccer team competes in Conference USA and is to rejoin the Sun Belt's newly reinstated competition in that sport by 2023–24.
  2. Presbyterian's football team competes in the Pioneer Football League.
