The Altrad group is a French industrial services and construction company. It is led by Mohed Altrad, whose personal fortune was estimated at €3.3 billion in 2018.[1]

History

Altrad was created in 1985 by Mohed Altrad and Richard Alcock.[2] In 30 years, the group has become a major player in the cosntruction and industrial services industry thanks to both internal growth and the acquisition of a number of companies operating in similar sectors.

In 2008, Altrad announced the acquisition for €26 million of Belle Group, a British company specializing in concrete mixers, with 450 jobs.[3] In 2010 Altrad acquired the Croatian company Limex for €7 million and took a 76% stake in Irbal, a Portuguese company.[4] In March 2015 the group doubled its size by absorbing Dutch firm Hertel, who operated in the fields of access solutions, insulation, corrosion protection and the maintenance of mechanical systems.

In 2017, Altrad acquired the French company Prezioso, and the British industrial services firm Cape plc.[5]

In April 2022, Altrad announced the acquisition of Endel.

Sponsorship

Between 2014 and 2018, the Stade Yves-du-Manoir in Montpellier was named Altrad Stadium following under a sponsorship arrangement with the group.

In March 2017, the Altrad group supported the French bid to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup. In 2018 the company signed a deal, worth €7 million a year, with the French Rugby Federation for its logo to appear on the shirt of the French national rugby union team.

In 2019 Altrad announced a shirt sponsoirship deal with Catalan Dragons, a French rugby league team based in Perpignan.

In 2022 the group signed became shirt sponsors of New Zealands nation rugby union team, the All Blacks, for a period of six years.[6]
