Ian Yorston retired in 2023. He had been a schoolmaster at Radley College, a Public School in the United Kingdom, for 30 years. He variously taught Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, International Relations and Critical Thinking.

He was, for a number of years, Head of Science but - from 2000-2020 - his primary focus was as the Director of Digital Strategy.

Prior to his career in teaching, he was an Electronic Warfare Officer in the RAF having graduated from the Royal Air Force College in 1984.

He had studied Engineering and Economics at St Peter's College, Oxford from 1980, graduating in 1983.

He was educated at Wellington College and Ludgrove School
