My name is Eric. A quick history: in my early teen years I developed a strong interest in technology. In the early 1990s I owned a Commodore 64. Not long after, I was dumpster diving for parts to build my own computer. My first real exposure to a full operating environment was MS-DOS running Windows 3.0 on an 386. I learned Novell-based networking while assisting the network administrator in middle school, and by the late 1990s I was using Linux as my primary operating system. Over the years I have supported every major version of Windows and worked with many Linux distributions.
In 2008 I enlisted in the United States Air Force Security Forces, the law enforcement and security arm of the Air Force. I served in both law enforcement and security roles and deployed multiple times. Toward the end of my enlistment I also took on a range of information systems responsibilities, drawing on my technical background. I separated from the military in 2015, a decision I still regret at times, and soon after returned to IT, working in both the federal and state environments.
I have been involved with Wikipedia for over two decade. I was very active at one point, but life has limited the time I can dedicate. I still make smaller edits when I can. If you have any questions or concerns about my contributions, please leave a note on my talk page.
Thanks!
