User:JuniperChill/DYK work
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This page is about my work at DYK. This will also help should I require a QPQ for a further nomination. I may review hooks because I have some interest in it after doing my first nomination in March 2024. I was introduced to DYK because of theleekycauldron and her RfA. I personally never knew this existed until reading her RfA so thank you for getting me into DYK. Any articles I create will likely be nominated for DYK
Available for QPQ
This section shows what nominations I can use for a QPQ.
- Template:Did you know nominations/Interstate 85 in North Carolina
- Template:Did you know nominations/Schlag den Henssler
- Template:Did you know nominations/Dutch Maid Bakery
- Template:Did you know nominations/Chocolate industry
- Template:Did you know nominations/The Magician's Daughter
If there are any that I haven't listed, there is more to find with the what links here feature or my contributions to template space (since DYK stuff uses template space for some reason) although it will also include my nominations and promotions and edits to non-DYK templates.
Nominations
- My first DYK nomination is cozy game (DYK nomination template) in which Andrzejbanas made that. I just nominated it within the 7 day period and it was a success! The dates in brackets are when the hook was on the main page.
- "that Animal Crossing: New Horizons sparked a boom in the popularity of cozy games?" (22 April 2024)
- My other DYK is the one for Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly (DYK nomination template). That was my first successful article and my first successful DYK of an article that I made. Can't believe it was exactly a month apart between my first two DYKs!
- "that Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly was released after its main creator of Coffee Talk died in March 2022?" (22 May 2024)
- Although this one went onto the main page, it was removed after 10 hours at WP:ERRORS for various reasons. I didn't think the hook was wrong but that isn't the only reason why it was removed from the main page.
- "that the upgrading of the A9 in Scotland between Perth and Inverness is far from being complete despite its 2025 deadline?" (17 July 2024)
Other noms
- that the construction of the Jubilee Bridge over the River Tay was featured in the reconstruction of the A9 documentary? (19 September 2024)
- "that although the electrification of the Midland Main Line was designated as a high priority in 1981, work to electrify the northern part of the line did not begin until more than 30 years later?" (23 September 2024)
- "that Oxford is the first city in the United Kingdom to adopt a zero emission zone?" (4 October 2024)
- "that the 2024 Talerddig train collision was the first collision in Wales between passenger trains since 1991?" (23 November 2024)
Pending noms
These hooks will remain here until it reaches the main page. Both have already been reviewed.
- Tiny Glade - "that Tiny Glade was the fourth most played demo on 2024's Steam Next Fest?" (nominated 23 Oct - nom page)
- Sun Haven - "that players can marry the leader in Sun Haven?" (nominated 20 Nov - nom page)
- "that players can marry Lucia, the leader of Sun Haven?"
DYK preparation
This section is used to prepare my DYK hooks for new articles.
- Beaulieu Park railway station (after GA) - that Beaulieu Park railway station was the first station on the Great Eastern Main Line in 100 years? or that Chelmsford's new railway station will unlock 14,000 new homes?
Relevant scripts I use
- User:Theleekycauldron/DYK promoter, (PSHAW) one which helps me promote and close nominations
- User:Shubinator/DYKcheck, one that checks if an article is eligible for DYK (especially prose size and newness)
To install these scripts, go to one or both links and follow the instructions from them. You must have an account to install user scrips
