Proof that 0.111... = 0

Firstly,

${\displaystyle 0.999...+0.111...=1}$

as 9 + 1 = 10 is trivially true. Then, as

${\displaystyle 0.999...=1}$

(see Proof that 0.999... equals 1) we can equate both sides leaving

${\displaystyle 0.999...+0.111...=0.999...}$

which, after subtracting 0.999... from both sides cancels to:

${\displaystyle 0.111...=0}$
