History
Growth Operators was founded in 2010 by Rick Nordvold, a former CFO of Golf Galaxy and finance director at Best Buy.[1] The firm was established to provide an operational alternative to traditional management consulting, utilizing experienced former executives rather than career consultants.
In 2012, Molly Hiller, formerly of Target Corporation and Arthur Andersen, joined the firm as a partner. In 2024, Hiller was named President of the firm while continuing her role as CFO.[2]
Operations
The firm specializes in the "lower-middle market," providing services during periods of transition, such as mergers and acquisitions, IPO readiness, and post-acquisition integration. The company has reported consecutive year-over-year revenue growth exceeding 30% between 2020 and 2024.[3]
Recognition
Growth Operators has been recognized for its growth and workplace culture in the following regional and national rankings:
- Inc. 5000: Ranked as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States for three consecutive years from 2022 to 2024.[4]
- Star Tribune Top Workplaces: Named a "Top 200 Workplace" by the Star Tribune in 2024 and 2025.[5]
