From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
OldIcons is a collection of CSS rules attempting to restore the icons of the user interface to just before Phabricator ticket T339175, a controversial change affecting over 200 icons. Specifically, it uses icons from these sources:
Installation
| The file is ~160 KB in size. While this is a non-issue for almost all connections, it is something you should consider if load times get unusually long. |
Install this collection in one wiki by adding the following code to the top of your common.css stylesheet or globally by adding it to your global.css stylesheet:
/* [[User:Pattersonuwu/OldIcons.css]] */
@import url("https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Pattersonuwu/OldIcons.css&action=raw&ctype=text/css");
Alternatively, you can add it to your common.js page or globally by adding it to your global.js page. However this method results in a brief flash of the new icons, so the above method is probably better:
importStylesheet('User:Pattersonuwu/OldIcons.css'); // Backlink: [[User:Pattersonuwu/OldIcons.css]]
Reporting Issues
If you run into any "new" icons, leave a message on this page's talk page with a description of where the icon is located, so it can be fixed quickly. Alternatively, you may ping @pattersonuwu in the Wikimedia Community Discord with the same info.
