Biography

Annett Tsoungui was born in Dresden, Saxony. She completed her first classical singing training at the age of 14 in a special class of music with a boarding school connection at the Robert Schumann Conservatory in Zwickau. From 1981 to 1985 she attended the Käthe-Kollwitz-Gymnasium in Zwickau. After her studies she received her first permanent engagement at the Theater Plauen.[1] Since 1999, Tsoungui has been a member of the opera choir at the Theater Hof, where she can be seen in productions such as as a dominant tour guide in Ralph Benatzkys The White Horse Inn (season 2010/11), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozarts The Magic Flute and in Leo Tolstoys Anna Karenina (as Betsy in the 2023/24) season.[2]

Tsoungui was married to a Cameroonian. From the marriage comes the drummer, percussionist and producer Linda-Philomène Tsoungui (born 1992). She is a member of the Alliance 90/The Greens.[3] After living in Plauen for a few years, Tsoungui has lived in Hof (Saale) since 1999.
