Raghu Rajan Esakki Pandian (born 18th December, 1987), is commonly known as Ragu Esaki. He is an Indian film actor and producer who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. His performances in socially themed and realistic narratives, often appeared in supporting and antagonist roles. He began his film career in 2014 from that he has appeared in more than twenty films, with notable roles in Pariyerum Perumal, Kadaikutty Singam, Dharmadurai and Sirai.

He completed his acting training at Balu Mahendra's Cinema Pattarai in Chennai and Adi Shakti Theatre in Pondicherry, grounding his practice in realism and physical theater methodologies. Also, he worked as an executive producer on Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir film.
Early life and education
He completed his Bachelor's degree in Production Engineering at PSG College of Technology in Coimbatore, one of Tamil Nadu's premier technical institutions. Followed by his graduation he worked as Program Analyst in Tokyo, Japan.
His passion towards acting made him a quit his tech job at Tokyo.
Acting training
Esaki has done acting training at two prominent institutions under the late cinematographer & director Balu Mahendra at his Cinema Pattarai in Chennai, where the curriculum emphasized realism and cinematic acting methodology.
He also studied at Adi Shakti Theatre in Pondicherry, an institution internationally recognized for its theater-based and physically rigorous performance training. Since Esaki learned from both film training and theatre-based institutions, his acting style became more well-rounded.
Career
Early career (2014–2017)
Ragu Esaki started his acting career in 2014. He acted in small and noticeable roles in tamil movies like Naan Than Bala, Poojai, Sandamaarutham and Sakalakala Vallavan, that helped him learn and improve his acting skills. He also appeared in Kathakali, Maapillai Singam, and Wagah during this period.
Breakthrough roles (2018–2020)
After his appearances in small roles in notable films his performances proved that he is a strong character actor who can handle serious and meaningful roles. After that Ragu Esaki played as Vijay Sethupathi's brother in Dharmadurai (2016) and acted in Maanagaram (2017). He also acted in Pariyerum Perumal (2018), Kadaikutty Singam (2018), Seemaraja (2018), and Devarattam (2019) which again got strong recognition in his career.
Recent work (2021–present)
Esaki continued to be active in Tamil cinema with roles in Maamanithan, DSP, Vithaikaran, Weapon, Soodhu Kavvum 2, and 800.His villain performance in Sirai got a lot of appreciation and also attention which considered as a standout roles in his career, even his co-star Vikram Prabhu praised his acting.[1]
