Gaurav Paswala (born 9 April 1993) is an Indian actor known for his work in Hindi and Gujarati cinema. He gained recognition for his performances in the Hindi web series Lootere (Disney+ Hotstar, 2024),[1] the Gujarati film Prem Prakaran (2022),[2] and the Hollywood project Hotel Mumbai (2018).[3]Gaurav’s multilingual proficiency and global exposure have contributed to his versatility as an actor.

Early Life and Education
Gaurav Paswala was born in Surat, Gujarat. He spent his early childhood in Dahod, where he was raised by his grandparents until age five.[4] He completed his schooling in Surat and later moved to Australia for higher education. He earned a master's degree in professional accounting from the University of Southern Queensland, Sydney.[5] He trained in acting at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) for two years.[6]Guided by his acting teacher, Paul Berry, he was advised to pursue acting opportunities in India, leading him to relocate to Mumbai to explore the Indian entertainment industry.
Career
Gaurav Paswala began his professional journey as a radio jockey at IndianLink Radio in Sydney, Australia. Upon returning to India, he joined Mumbai’s Yatri Theatre Group, where he trained in voice, language, and stagecraft for over two years. He made his television debut in 2011 with the SAB TV show Mrs. Tendulkar, portraying the character Kalpesh. He subsequently appeared in several Hindi television series, including Ek Doosre Se Karte Hain Pyaar Hum, Sajda Tere Pcharacter, Gumrah, and Confessions of a Teenager. Alongside television, Gaurav also featured in multiple television commercials.
Gaurav Paswala made his Hindi film debut with 6-5=2 (2014), a remake of the Kannada blockbuster of the same name.[7] His portrayal of Raja received positive reviews and established him as a promising new actor. Following his debut, he transitioned to Gujarati cinema. His first Gujarati debut, Je Pan Kahish E Sachuj Kahish (2016), directed by Naiteek Raval, earned him a GIFA Best Actor nomination.[8] He later starred in Wassup Zindagi (2017), Order Order Out of Order (2018), and 47 Dhansukh Bhawan (2019). 47 Dhansukh Bhawan became India’s first single-shot Gujarati film,[9] earning him the GIFA Critics' Choice Award.[10] Gaurav Paswala achieved major recognition with Prem Prakaran (2022), where he played a rock musician.[11] The film’s music and background score were composed by Amit Trivedi, marking the composer’s first venture into Gujarati cinema. Both Gaurav Paswala and the film were nominated for the Film Excellence Awards (FEA), Dubai.
Following this, he reunited with Trivedi and director Chandresh Bhatt on the independent music album Lagan Lagi Re (2021),[12] which became a YouTube chartbuster. His performance in the Gujarati web series Bas Cha Sudhi (Season 3, 2020) further boosted his popularity among younger audiences. In 2024, Gaurav Paswala appeared in the Hindi web series Lootere, directed by Jai Mehta (son of Hansal Mehta). His portrayal of Ruhaan Pandit was highly praised.[13] The same year, he starred in the Gujarati web series Warso (Shemaroo Gujarati), where he played Hem, a character navigating family legacy and generational conflict. [14][15] The year 2025 marked a turning point in Gaurav’s career, with five feature films releasing within six weeks, an unprecedented feat for any actor:[16]
Gaurav Paswala has also demonstrated his adaptability and commanding presence on screen in numerous well-known advertising campaigns with top domestic and foreign companies. During the IPL, he co-starred with Shah Rukh Khan in advertisements for 7Up, Coca-Cola, the Mumbai Indians, and Genus Inverter. His advertising portfolio also includes appearances alongside Barkha Singh for Ticket Goose, Karan Johar for ISHQ FM, Riddhima Pandit for Pothy’s Boutique, Anushka Sharma for Canon, R. Madhavan for Snapdeal, and Kriti Sanon for Jasmine Parachute Oil. He has additionally featured in campaigns for Superia Soap, Lays Chips, KFC, Chevrolet, DOCOMO, and several other mainstream consumer brands.
