Early life and career

Edward Skeletrix was born in 1998, in Tallahassee, Florida, though grew up in Atlanta, Georgia.[1] He has intentionally kept most details regarding his upbringing private.

Starting in 2013, Edward began producing on SoundCloud under the name Cight.[3] He would be regarded as one of the most influential people in the "Holy Trap" scene at the time, collaborating with artists such as Night Lovell and XXXTentacion. [1]

Edward would launch the clothing line Syckli in late 2018. His clothing was worn and promoted by many figures in the SoundCloud hip hop scene, including Lil Skies and Lil Mosey.[3][4]

He graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor's in Public Health in 2020.

Edward Skeletrix

Skeletrix would begin work under the pseudonym Edward Skeletrix in 2019, starting mainly as a visual art project.[5] Until 2023, Skeletrix would actively post art pieces and video edits on the Chinese platform TikTok.[6] Skeletrix gained attention for the Skeletrix Island trend, wherein users would take advantage of early AI's uncanny valley aesthetics.[4] He posted his first song, Skeletrix Magic, in May 2023.[7]

Skeletrix released his debut project Skeletrix Language on December 1, 2023. It contains production from many long term associates of Skeletrix such as o0o, Cavitnak, and Vincentt.

In 2024, Skeletrix ceased output from his brand Syckli. The webpage for the brand has since expired.

Starting in mid-2024, Skeletrix began teasing a new project named Skeletrix Islvnd Rvdix 66.7 through text messages. Despite claiming the project was texted to one fan, it has never surfaced and is presumed not to exist.[8]

Skeletrix began the Museum Music rollout in November 2024 with an Instagram story. He sold iPods containing the album via fashion brand noLogin. On December 29, 2024, he hosted an exhibit in Manhattan, during which he displayed art from friends, such as Brennan Jones and jackzebra, along with a piece from deceased artist Francis Bacon. Skeletrix would sit inside of a glass box for several hours during the exhibit. The exhibit ended early after fans attempted to light him on fire.[9]

Museum Music was self-released on January 1, 2025.

Influences and collaborators

As Cight, Skeletrix was influenced by producers blank body (Bladee, Adamn Killa, Night Lovell), greg, and Lil Netzero, among others.[10] He was part of the groups MIZUSTATION and 0% boys.

As Edward Skeletrix, he has given very little information as to his influences, though he incorporates many lessons and aspects of philosopher Eckhart Tolle into his work. He frequently collaborates with fellow rapper Brennan Jones.[8]
