From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi there. Thank you for your intertest in the Wikipedia article. I am sorry I found it necessary to delete your contribution. I can see that you devoted a great deal of time to it. I am not a harsh person by nature. I just felt it would have taken me too much time to amend your contribution. I have been procrastinating about adding additional content, so you have motivated me to do so. I hope you will forgive me.

Respectfully, I also am not convinced that Wikipedia is where you should be practicing your writing skills. Writing for an encyclopedia requires the writer to suppress their opinions and reflect that of the experts on the subject. Our personality is not supposed to come through. However, I sense that you would thrive if you were writing an opinion article.

On the other hand, I am a huge believer in the fundamental principles of Wikipedia (i.e., free, evidence-based information made available to everyone). And, it is becoming more important in this age of misinformation. A person with your talent can be a great asset to Wikipedia. Just pick a subject in which you have a keen interest or expertise. Start a new article in your sandbox and follow the guidelines that are available. I make a practice of having at least one credible reference for every sentence that I add. And, I keep my opinions out of it. I find that I get to the truth much faster. It's not easy and you need "a tough skin" because we Wikipedia's are not always tactful in our edits.

Thanks again, season's greetings, and best wishes in your educational pursuits. John NH (talk) 22:17, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
