Hi, I’m Semyon.

My editing interests are mostly around modern history, migration, and Jewish history, especially biographies linked to the late Soviet and post-Soviet period.

I often work with sources in English, Hebrew, and Russian. What I enjoy most is when an article needs material from more than one place — an archive here, a committee transcript there, and press coverage from a different country altogether.

I usually work in my sandbox first and only move drafts forward once the sourcing feels solid and the structure makes sense. I try to keep things straightforward and readable, even when the subject itself is complicated.
