I made one article, New Orleans Inspector General, many years ago.

Recently I've been contributing mostly to fix stylistic or link things that annoy me, but occasionally to improve articles. I did a reasonable amount of work on the "list of unicorn startups" article to try to remove all the old startups that hadn't been updated.

I have been making a large-ish number of updates recently to company infoboxes. I have two goals: first to update the infoboxes (which I do with SEC filings), and second to change which numbers they present. I think that company infoboxes as currently done are somewhat bad. A large number of them have Revenue/Operating Income/Net Income/Total Assets/Total Equity. I think this is a massive waste. I think for nonfinancial businesses, you almost always just want Revenue/Net Income(=profit). For financial businesses assets and equity are useful. I am using a semi-automated process (script presents edit, I click accept to make it).

here's what my script's UI looks like right now. i click accept for every change. this is all generated by a claude code session, so when i found it messed something up i told claude code to fix its parsing in whatever way (e.g. there were two different profit statements in a particular piece of XBRL and it chose the wrong one).
