Born and raised in Aotearoa/New Zealand and having the good fortune to have lived in Dunedin at the height of the ‘Dunedin sound’ movement, I will find any excuse to champion the scene that shaped me. (Not that anyone I know is much interested.)

Having lived in the UK since 1990, I’ve been a newspaper journalist and still write about stuff that moves me in between shitty jobs and political/environmental activism. Occasionally published, but mostly not these days.

I started editing on wikipedia at the beginning of 2026, mainly to improve articles on New Zealand bands and out of commitment to the project more generally. Still hoping to get my first article published and learning all the time. I welcome any feedback from fellow wikipedians, especially for my first draft article which is currently languishing in the queue to be re-reviewed (see Death Ray Cafe draft).
