I am based in Spain, originally from Canada. My academic background is in cultural heritage and museum studies, and I completed postgraduate work in Australia. My areas of interest include contemporary visual arts in British Columbia, Canada; the visual arts of the Philippines; and cultural heritage and history more broadly.
About me
Editing focus
I have been using this account to document the legacy of Douglas Patrick George, an artist active during a formative period for contemporary visual arts in BC and Canada — a time when the regional scene was developing under influences from both the United Kingdom and the United States. While the significance of those national art scenes is well documented, the parallel developments in BC and western Canada remain comparatively underrepresented, despite many of the artists involved going on to successful international careers.
I am related to George and am responsible for cataloguing his estate, including works and correspondence from other artists of the period. I am not compensated for this work. I am aware of Wikipedia's guidelines on conflicts of interest and aim to edit in accordance with them.
Future contributions
I hope to expand coverage of other artists and groups active in this place and time, including Donald Harvey, Fleming Jorgensen, the Limners, and Ground Zero Printmakers. If you share an interest in this area and would like to collaborate, please feel free to reach out on my talk page.
