About me
Hi! I'm Ghost Orchid 🌿
I'm a student who enjoys exploring new ideas, learning random facts, and occasionally going down long internet rabbit holes while researching something interesting. My username comes from the ghost orchid — a rare and fascinating plant that I thought was a cool and unique name.
What I do on Wikipedia
On Wikipedia I mostly focus on small improvements that help articles read better. This usually includes:
- Fixing grammar
- Correcting typos
- Cleaning up awkward or confusing sentences
- Making small readability improvements
They may be small edits, but they help make articles clearer for the many people who read them.
Why I edit
I like the idea that Wikipedia is a huge collaborative project built by people from around the world. Even small contributions can improve the quality of information that millions of readers see every day.
Editing is also a fun way to learn new things. Sometimes I start fixing a sentence and end up reading an entire article about something I didn't even know existed.
Editing style
My editing style is mostly quiet and simple — fixing small things, improving wording, and helping make articles easier to read. I’m still learning more about Wikipedia’s policies, formatting, and sourcing guidelines as I continue editing.
Fun fact
Sometimes I come to Wikipedia to fix one typo and suddenly I’m reading about history, science, or some completely random topic an hour later.
Status
Still a relatively new editor, but curious, learning, and enjoying the process of contributing to this massive knowledge project.
