Li Shaohong (born 1955, Beijing) is a female Chinese film director. Though less well-known than some of her male counterparts, she is considered a member of the Fifth Generation movement, a loose collection of mainland Chinese filmmakers that first emerged in the early to mid-1980s.[1] Like other Fifth Generation films, Li Shaohong's works often focus on the rural side of Chinese society.[1]
