Introduction
SAJ Bridge (Sir Anerood Jugnauth Bridge) is a road bridge located in the northwest of Mauritius.[1] Named after Sir Anerood Jugnauth, a former Prime Minister and President of Mauritius.[2] The bridge serves as an important transport link in the region. It connects the motorway M1 and the A1 road across the Grand River North West (GRNW) valley. Construction of the bridge started on 11 April 2018, completed on 10 March 2024 and it was officially opened on 11 March 2024. The bridge is currently the highest bridge in Mauritius.
