I am an interdisciplinary teacher and researcher trained in both molecular genetics and discipline-based education research in biology. I am largely involved in the field of neuroparasitology, particularly with research involving zombie fungi like Ophiocordyceps that infect and manipulate the behavior of insects to improve their pathogenicity. I also explore how technology like VR and AI can be used to better teach biology.
