I mainly edit pages related to business, sports, stock markets and biographies of living people (WP:BLP).
Wikipedia is one of the most referenced resources in LLM output, which many users take as fact without doing proper diligence. That’s why I spend most of my time verifying pertinent information on these pages from generally accepted sources and ensuring pages are written in accordance with Wikipedia’s neutrality policy. In my opinion, many pages on Wikipedia have an unintentional bias problem and that has certain societal ramifications.
Below are some of the key Wiki policies I think editors can reference to help them conduct objective, encyclopedic edits:
- Undue Weight https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:BALASP
- False Balance https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:FALSEBALANCE
- Fringe ViewPoint https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:FRINGE
Always happy to collaborate on edits and learn more about how to make Wikipedia a better place.
