While editing "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" article some time ago I was linking characters to pages that had previously been created. I did not locate a page for one character so I created one. I turns out I was was spelling the name the same way as the character page had it, which was Frank-N-Furter. I created the page Frank N. Furter. However all Rocky Horror Characters have had thier pages deleted (for some reason) except for this one and the page Usherette Trixie. Please look into whether these pages should exist or be deleted. If they are ok to stay can I re-create other pages for other characters.--Amadscientist 05:10, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Hello Magnus animum, as you were the protecting administrator, I thought you may want to know that I changed the protection level of SummerSlam 2007 from edit=sysop move=sysop to edit=autoconfirmed move=sysop due to an RFPP request. Good edits were wanting to be done to the article. If you disagree with my decision feel free to re-instate full protection. Acalamari 01:47, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

... okay, whatever you wanted the block for, it's there. Have a nice day! ~Kylu (u|t) 01:41, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Howdy! At least one of your recent username blocks had autoblock enabled. Please don't do this, it prevents the user from coming back with an OK username. - CHAIRBOY (☎) 03:24, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Okies. Just one question: Shouldn't account creation be enabled as well (sorry if I sound a bit noobish, but I haven't been a sysop for a long time. )? —« ANIMUM » 21:11, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Well, when you put a checkmark in 'account creation disabled', that prevents them from coming back with a new, proper username. - CHAIRBOY (☎) 21:53, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

${\displaystyle \ldots }$and if the autoblock were enabled, the new username couldn't edit, correct? —« ANIMUM » 22:08, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

My words are failing me, I apologize for the confusion I've caused. Instead, please see this subsection of WP:BLOCK which communicates what I've been suggesting without my awkward phrasing. - CHAIRBOY (☎) 22:39, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi Magnus,

You recently deleted page Andrew Markwell which I created, and which has a link to it on Candidates of the Australian general election, 2007. Your stated reason for deletion was, "Biographical article that does not assert significance", even though it contained references to three or four sources and indicated that the man is currently running for national election.

I would very much appreciate your help with two questions I have:

1. If a wikipedia article is not a suitable place for information on this candidate, where can I post information about this candidate so that I can link to it from Candidates of the Australian general election, 2007#Senate?

2. Is there any way that I can recover the text of the deleted article? It took me considerable time to research, word and tag correctly, although it is no doubt a very small effort compared to other wikipedians here.

Sincerely
Matthew 1130 14:24, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

You want to take a look at this? Patriotic Republican seems to be autoblocked per your username block of User:Anti Shempite. Any objections to an unblock or thoughts on whether this is the same person or not?--Isotope23 ^talk 17:52, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

I began an article today as part of an ongoing effort by myself to improve and add pertinent articles on Monterey area figures surrounding John Steinbeck, such as Bruce Ariss, and Ed Ricketts. The article I began was Pacific Biological Laboratories. While it was a small stub. It was better than many stubs that begin with a single sentence and I have been researching to expand it myself and add it to the Architecture project as well as others. But when I went back to it this evening I discovered that Viriditas had redirected the link to the Ed Ricketts article with no discussion, warning or if it was speedy deleted I knew nothing about it and was not given time to add a hangon. The building is notable and the article can be expanded and is of importance to many people including myself. If this user is not an admin I would like my article back, please! Even if he is I don't think it is right to just redirect without discussion the work of others. He copied my work to that article without any idea of how uncivil that was! I just can't believe it! Could you see what can be done.--Amadscientist 09:05, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

I believe it has worked itself out. The editor has restored the article and contributed. Although we warred for about an hour, we finally began working together and the article has gained greatly from it. Thank you.--Amadscientist 12:02, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Why did you block User:Stevenspringfoundation before they even edited? Nothing in the name or in their lack of edits implies that they meant Wikipedia any harm, so escalating this to blocking just on the username was unjustified. You should consider talking to newbies whose usernames are minor violations of WP:U, possibly using the {{UsernameConcern}} template, instead of blocking as a first resort. rspeer / ɹəədsɹ 22:00, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

It wasn't unjustified - it's a promotional username , the user is quite welcome to go and create a new username. Ryan Postlethwaite 22:03, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Blocks are meant to be preventative not punitive. Since their name is promotional any edit by them would be promotional, and thus it makes sense to block on sight. Until(1 == 2) 22:20, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

When you're trying to prevent something the user hasn't done yet, and which they may never do, you're taking it too far. Also, I think it's inappropriate to take this argument to Magnus Animum's talk page, when it was on your advice that I posted such a message here in the first place. rspeer / ɹəədsɹ 22:44, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Can you explain the content dispute at Jewish right with the anon editor? He's got a creepy edit history, and I'm wondering at what point to report it to administrators. You gave a vandalism warning, but that seemed to not quite capture the nature of why the revert was made. THF 23:36, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

It's not really appropriate for WP:AIV. Too subtle. (Indeed, admins could arguably sanction you for giving a vandalism warning.) In any event, the anon has undone your reversion (which, in any event, missed about twenty edits the anon made). THF 23:42, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

No offense meant. I've been warned for giving vandalism warnings for far less ambiguous conduct. THF 23:52, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Excuse me? I am definitely not a sockpuppet in any way shape or form. I was asking that user to retrieve the page he deleted. I am utterly outraged you could think I should be blocked. Please reply to this message immediately. Onnaghar ^{tl | co | @} 11:55, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

I see you have unblocked me, but please could you provide a reason for the block in the first place as the evidence shown doesn't seem to show any foul play. Thanks. Onnaghar ^{tl | co | @} 19:44, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Ok, well thanks for providing some evidence of the rationale behind the decision. Im just a little bit miffed though that that blocklog will stay with my username forever. And so, the reasons behind the evidence given are:

Hello, I am trying to get an objective article about me and my work on Wikipedia. There is a summary of one of my plays (GODOT ARRIVES) that won the 1999 National New Play Contest but not of me.

It's not clear to me where to send it. I wrote up something, then learned we are not to write about ourselves, but my papers and letters are now collected by the San Francisco Public Library. That should be plenty of recogniton, no? Daniel Curzon: Danielcurzon 16:11, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Please have a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Days of the year for information on what types of entries are acceptable for Wikicalendar articles. The consensus is that future items should not be added. Additionally, the start date of the Olympics is not notable in and of itself and is considered a repetitive event - but we can have that discussion in a year. -- Mufka ^{(u) (t) (c)} 00:17, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

There are FLOODS of other "historical pages" which are still open for editing, and that isn't usually discouraged. I don't think Wikipedia:Silly Things merits protection beyond the usual reasons (Vandalism, etc) and certainly not indefinite protection. 68.39.174.238 18:02, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
