Adjustment of Women in Red Template Watchlist

Hi there, Bamyers88. I have tried to add template "User:ForsythiaJo/20%Userbox" to the Category / Template Watchlist for WikiProject Women in Red but it does not stick- Some participants are using it as an alternative to User WikiProject Women in Red. I would appreciate your assistance. You may be interested to hear I check the watchlist every day as it allows me to welcome new participants. Seasons greetings!--Ipigott (talk) 09:10, 29 December 2024 (UTC)

@Ipigott: The "query" url parameter changes whenever the watchlist configuration is modified. Your original query parameter starts with 9743014. The query parameter with "User:ForsythiaJo/20%Userbox" starts with e8e479198584. --Bamyers99 (talk) 15:13, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
Thanks. It now works correctly.--Ipigott (talk) 15:33, 29 December 2024 (UTC)

Hey, it's been nearly four years since this has been refreshed, and everyone says that you're the only one who knows how to do it. Jacobacademy (talk) 20:14, 10 January 2025 (UTC)

Template parameters

Hello, it appears you're quite knowledgable on templates and parameters. I was hoping to pick your brain. I'd like to review the parameters within {{Infobox gymnast}} for usage, but I'm unsure where to start. I've tried to use this tool of yours, but not sure if I'm operating correctly. For example, a sample question I'd like to review is "What is the total article usage of the |worldranking parameter within {{Infobox gymnast}} and which articles are using it?" Not sure if that's what the tool does, but maybe you know of a way to help me on that quest. Thoughts? GauchoDude (talk) 15:56, 6 December 2024 (UTC)

@GauchoDude: That is what the tool does. I have just added the necessary TemplateData to the Infobox gymnast doc page. The parameters report will not be available until the next run in early January. The multi-gigabyte data file is too big to rerun for December. --Bamyers99 (talk) 18:10, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
@Bamyers99: Any idea when the January run happens? GauchoDude (talk) 19:28, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
@GauchoDude: The data that the tool uses has been delayed per Temporary pause of enwiki dumps until the New Year. I will let you know when it is available. --Bamyers99 (talk) 19:39, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
@Bamyers99: Got it, thanks for the info! GauchoDude (talk) 19:44, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
@Bamyers99: Hey, as someone who has literally no idea of this issue and what's going on, is this still broken? Is there a projected ETA if yes? Sorry to keep pinging you! GauchoDude (talk) 19:31, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
@GauchoDude: Since there is no eta for the availability of the data that is needed, I have gone ahead and processed the December 20th data file. Normally only the 1st of the month file is processed. Template Parameters : Infobox gymnast. --Bamyers99 (talk) 00:54, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
Hey, looks like the problem is fixed: . Please process this data file when you get the chance. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 12:18, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
@MPGuy2824: February 1 data has been processed. --Bamyers99 (talk) 19:01, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for this as well as for the website as a whole. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 04:59, 12 February 2025 (UTC)

TemplateParam and WikiProject banners

Can the TemplateParam tool be modified so it also includes Talk pages so it can work for WikiProject banners? I was looking at banners like this but got "Template not found". Gonnym (talk) 16:06, 1 February 2025 (UTC)

@Gonnym: I have configured it to now process article talk pages too. It will be a couple of days before the February data is available to process. I will let you know when it is ready. --Bamyers99 (talk) 15:03, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
@Gonnym: The template usage data is now available. --Bamyers99 (talk) 19:30, 11 February 2025 (UTC)

Hello. I'd like to point out that links to bambots.toolforge.org (example) should be updated to bambots.brucemyers.com. While the old page contains a link to the new site, users would prefer to be immediately taken to the new site. C.Ezra.M (talk | contribs) 21:44, 5 March 2025 (UTC)

Okay, I should have been more specific. The links to the new article query tool on User:AlexNewArtBot/PolandSearchResult should be updated because they redirect to the old website. C.Ezra.M (talk | contribs) 21:52, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
@C.Ezra.M: Fixed, new site will show up in tomorrows results. --Bamyers99 (talk) 22:13, 5 March 2025 (UTC)

I was wondering if in the TemplateParam website information, it is possible to add a "page links" link to entries in the "Unique values" column. That way if there is something that needs fixing, it's a simple one click to get a list instead of trying to figure out how to even find the page with the issue. Gonnym (talk) 11:44, 12 March 2025 (UTC)

@Gonnym: For templates that are widely used, the individual parameter value page usage information is not tracked. There is simply too much data. I have added a search link to search the wiki for pages using that template parameter and value. --Bamyers99 (talk) 21:20, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
Thanks, this is also useful. Gonnym (talk) 19:51, 13 March 2025 (UTC)

Measuring impact on AfroCreatives WikiProject using bambot cleanup tool

Hi @Bamyers99.

I hope you're well.

I'm curious on how to read the data on the line chart and the table on the cleanup tool history page to determine how many articles that are improved and how many issues that are resolved over a given period of time on AfroCreatives WikiProject.

Any clarification you could provide would be highly appreciated. Ceslause (talk) 10:23, 14 March 2025 (UTC)

@Ceslause: The "New articles" column indicates articles that had no cleanup issue last week, but have a cleanup issue this week. The "Resolved articles" column indicates articles that had a cleanup issue last week, but have no cleanup issue this week. --Bamyers99 (talk) 21:45, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
