Your edit at Palestinians
I came to see if you were unaware of the principles governing contentious topics articles. As it seems you are, I am quite surprised by this edit. There is a talk page section where the change I made was proposed and is being discussed. You are invited to participate in it, and bring sources to discuss. Tiamut (talk) 22:35, 25 May 2026 (UTC)
In case you are having difficulty finding it, it is at Talk:Palestinians#Ethnonational in the lead - on what basis? Tiamut (talk) 22:37, 25 May 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, I saw the discussion, and as I stated in the edit summary, it doesn't seem that you have consensus for the edit. (t · c) buIdhe 23:37, 25 May 2026 (UTC)
- The ethnonational wording was introduced without a discussion. I opened a discussion asking the rationale for its use and when none was provided, after presentinf and reviewing the sources, I changed it. The two editors who were discussing there with me after the change raised questions but did not oppose the change. Only the non-confirmed editor did. As you know they cannot edit such articles. When they made a request to change the wording (without providing any new sources), I declined. Then you came along and reverted my edit citing talk. You did not inform the editor of the contentious topic restrictions either.
- If you oppose the change I made, you can participate in the talk section about it. Tiamut (talk) 05:07, 26 May 2026 (UTC)

Omar Shahabudin McDoom
Hi, I have 2 questions about this edit.
- What is the source of the instruction 'only include papers with >100 cites'?
- If that rule is encoded in policy/guidelines/MOS or some kind of documented norm, can the instruction be replaced by a link?
Sean.hoyland (talk) 03:17, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
- Sean.hoyland if you include every paper he wrote, it would violate WP:NOTCV/WP:INDISCRIMINATE (t · c) buIdhe 03:46, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
- Right, INDISCRIMINATE, he has written a lot of papers. Thanks. Sean.hoyland (talk) 04:12, 31 May 2026 (UTC)

Speedy deletion
Speedy deletion nomination of Sam Haselby

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Sam Haselby requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.

Orphaned non-free image File:Ninth Fort memorial.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Ninth Fort memorial.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of non-free use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:53, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

Articles for Creation backlog drive

Hello Buidhe:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in August!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than a month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 August 2026 through 31 August 2026.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 5000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:36, 19 July 2026 (UTC)
- If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself from the mailing list or alternatively to opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page.
Revert of my Tiryaki Hasan Pasha and Osman Pamukoglu additions in the page List of undefeated military leaders
Hi, per WP:REVEXP, reverts are expected to come with an edit summary specific enough that another editor can identify and fix the actual problem. Deleting 7k+ byte worth of edit i made and just saying "Not a reliable source" doesnt meet that bar, its not saying which source was unreliable, for which claim, or what disqualified it. Could you clarify?
A few points:
Under WP:BURDEN, the responsibility is to justify removal of cited material with a specific policy reason, not just assert unreliability. Rn I have no way to fix what you're objecting to, because idk what it is.
This list already sources several entries to non-English material without any apparent issue, Petro Sahaidachny and Ivan Sirko are cited to Russian/Ukrainian monographs, Suvorov and Ushakov to Russian sources, and Ozdemiroglu Pasha and Selim I partly to Turkish-language works by Feridun Emecen. So if the standard is WP:RS, id like to know specifically what differs between those and mine, rather than a blanket dismissal.
If the actual issue is with one specific citation (for instance, if you felt a news-aggregator-style source didn't meet WP:NEWSORG or WP:SELFSOURCE standards), thats a fair and fixable concern, im glad to swap it for stronger sourcing.
Per WP:AGF, im assuming this was an oversight rather than a targeted removal, and id like to resolve it collaboratively rather than through a revert war. If you dont respond with specifics, ill raise it at WP:RSN for outside input on the sourcing, since a vague revert summary alone isn't a resolution under WP:DR.
Also, The main pages for Osman Pamukoğlu (tr:Osman Pamukoğlu Turkish page for further info) and Tiryaki Hasan Pasha already say the same stuff i placed into the list of undefeated military leaders, i did not make a new claim, i simply added what Wikipedia was already claiming for these men. CharlesTheGrim (talk) 11:13, 19 July 2026 (UTC)
- nice job citing policies as an editor without even a talk page. Is this your first account?
- Next time try reading and understanding before you write. BURDEN says the opposite of what you claim. So, how can you prove the source has a reputation for fact checking and accuracy? (t · c) buIdhe 12:55, 19 July 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for answering to none of my points and going ad hominem in your first ever sentence. CharlesTheGrim (talk) 16:32, 19 July 2026 (UTC)
