Teedyuscung article

I noticed that you've edited the Teedyuscung page recently. Thought you'd be interested in this article from the WSWS on the history of the Wyoming Valley and this outstanding figure of the Delaware nation. https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2022/09/05/ccox-s05.html CerroFerro (talk) 22:34, 8 September 2022 (UTC)

Leadville Historic District pics

Hi CaroleHenson, my notices are pointing out your adding nice Template:Leadville mining to several articles, which reminds me about a big To Do item i have procrastinated about. I have about 1000 or 1200 photos documenting the Leadville Historic District to upload to a Commons category at least, maybe make a list-article of buildings in leadville historic district to display them. The NRHP-listed/NHL-designated area is huge, with about 1000 buildings, for which there is no list of buildings and no systematic documentation in photos. Early NRHP listings were minimal. As time goes by some of the miners' houses get demolished or altered. Drove up and down streets with a friend hanging out car window, a year ago, to try to get at least one photo for each building. You seem to appreciate the place, have you been around it, does it sound worthwhile to upload all. Would require lots of time labelling photos, and I am not aware of a tool to mass-upload besides one app that works on my iphone. Trying to get motivated to start somehow. --Doncram (talk) 02:14, 16 September 2022 (UTC)

Hi Doncram, Wow! That sounds like a huge effort, but it would be nice. Perhaps you could post on commons and ask if there's some way to load the images enmasse.
Since you've posted here, and are interested in Leadville, do you mind looking at my post at Talk:Leadville, Colorado#Non-free material tag? I don't think that there are a lot of watchers for that page.
Really great to hear from you!–CaroleHenson (talk) 16:06, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
Thanks. About commons uploading I see at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Upload_tools that there are tools I can try. I discover I first have to get access restored to a Dropbox that holds the photos, and I am started on that. I did respond about non-free tag. And I will start looking at the article to see about what improvements can be made. I haven't edited there before, I guess, because it was not on my watchlist. Tx. --Doncram (talk) 17:16, 16 September 2022 (UTC)

A high compliment

Hi Carole, I hope you're doing well. I don't know if you've seen it or not, but your work got a high compliment from another talented editor in response to my comment. Well-deserved, I might add. All the best, Carlstak (talk) 14:55, 2 October 2022 (UTC)

Thanks, I wouldn't have seen the reply without your pinging me. A very nice surprise!–CaroleHenson (talk) 18:08, 2 October 2022 (UTC)

Question from Carmel eloza (05:08, 15 October 2022)

how to write down an article --Carmel eloza (talk) 05:08, 15 October 2022 (UTC)

Carmel eloza
I see that you've tried to start an article about a musical group TROUBLESOME2KMUSIQ in a Draft and in your sandbox. I did a bit of googling and it does not appear that the group has sufficient experience yet to meet Notability guidelines for musicians. Do you have any other ideas for an article?–CaroleHenson (talk) 06:15, 15 October 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marilyn Gayle Hoff

I noticed you withdrew your nomination for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marilyn Gayle Hoff. You can only do this if no one else supported the deletion, per WP:WDAFD and WP:CLOSEAFD. But User:Pahiy voted to delete the article. Magnolia677 (talk) 13:35, 18 November 2022 (UTC)

@Pahiy:, you voted to delete the article before there had been a lot of work on the article, per the conversation at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marilyn Gayle Hoff and 24 or so edits here by Beccaynr. Would you still vote to delete the article now?–CaroleHenson (talk) 15:36, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
I saw the early close as a reasonable application of WP:IAR based on the 'per nom' !vote without elaboration by Pahiy, although looking more closely at the guidelines, the early close seems to technically be more of a snow keep than a speedy keep. As an involved editor, I don't think the outcome of the discussion will change, but if there is an objection to the close, reopening the discussion is an easy fix. Beccaynr (talk) 18:51, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
Actually, it's not a snow keep either; even after User:Beccaynr's comments, User:Lamona still only voted "weak keep". If the AFD had run it's natural course, would it have been a "keep"? Probably. The thing about AFDs though, is that people take them very seriously. Magnolia677 (talk) 20:19, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
I now know that I need to be more careful in the rare situations where I would withdraw a nomination. What do you think we should do Magnolia677? If you think it should be reopened to run it's natural course, as Beccaynr mentioned, I am fine with that.–CaroleHenson (talk) 20:29, 18 November 2022 (UTC)

Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Inductees.

Hey I think you may have forgot to add Judas Priest to your list of the 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees 2603:8090:904:7335:998:1B32:C05B:CD4C (talk) 19:26, 21 November 2022 (UTC)

I am not sure what you are talking about. I may have added a link to List of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees but I haven't added or removed people from the list. Is this the page you are talking about? If you select Control+F and search on Judas, it will take you to him.–CaroleHenson (talk) 00:49, 22 November 2022 (UTC)

First Ladies of the United States

Hello! I'm currently trying to bring List of first ladies of the United States to Good Topic status. I understand that you're a major contributor to Martha Jefferson Randolph and you've already brought it close to Good Article status. I was wondering if you had any interest in nominating it as a Good Article. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 16:49, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

Yes, Thebiguglyalien, that could be interesting. I probably won't get to it this week, but likely next week.–CaroleHenson (talk) 22:25, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
Great! There's certainly no rush; it's probably going to be several months before all of the articles are even at B-class. But each one helps! Thebiguglyalien (talk) 23:33, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
Thebiguglyalien I will start getting Martha Jefferson Randolph ready for good article status today, posting a checklist on Talk:Martha Jefferson Randolph for the work that needs to be done.–CaroleHenson (talk) 20:11, 30 December 2022 (UTC)

John Houston (immigrant) and Henry H. Houston

You stated that John Houston (immigrant) is the grandfather of Henry H. Houston. However, this means one's grandfather is 130 years older that him, which is unlikely. In addition, such is not supported by Geni.com, though it is not a reliable source to be cited in Wikipedia directly. GZWDer (talk) 17:57, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
