- I already went thru my COI with Marisa lankester's page with "JTYdog" whom deleted most of the content on the page but really helped me understand and learn about wiki guidelines. Regards to my COI, I had received an email from Lankester after the page was initially created - but not since then. Regardles, I thought it best that any input/work I do for the page has to be reviewed and uploaded by another user - so I asked for assistance from another administrator (through the request assistance talk page) and as you can see on Lankester's talk page, a user by the name of Jschnur reviewed the content, uploaded it and asked me to fix two references (which is the only edit I have done). Hope this solves your questions? Thanks, KHBibby (talk) 04:28, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

Turd-polisher Extrodinare Award
| Turd Polisher Extraordinaire Barnstar | ||
| At a recent RfA a term was used to descibe editors that fix or "polish" articles that have been left behind by COI editors---Turd Polisher. It was not meant as a derogatory or slanderous term as it relates to the polisher. The malapropism, turd, is used to describe the article that was left behind to rot in the field like last years potato crop. Buster Seven Talk 14:30, 10 April 2016 (UTC) |

Request
I know it might seem as tho I gave you the Turd-polisher Award to butter you up for a favor...but that is not the case. There is a discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Editor Retention about possibly finding a way to salvage Single-purpose editors and transforming them into positive WP collaborators in the general mainspace. Your personal insight and experience would be appreciated. WP:WER has become a relative ghost town (and I may be the only ghost left in town) and User:Robert's idea may be just the boost the Project needs to revitalize. Gamaliel and others arbitration case opened
You recently offered a statement in a request for arbitration. The Arbitration Committee has accepted that request for arbitration and an arbitration case has been opened at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Gamaliel and others. The scope of this case is Gamaliel's recent actions (both administrative and otherwise), especially related to the Signpost April Fools Joke. The case will also examine the conduct of other editors who are directly involved in disputes with Gamaliel. The case is strictly intended to examine user conduct and alleged policy violations and will not examine broader topic areas. The clerks have been instructed to remove evidence which does not meet these requirements. The drafters will add additional parties as required during the case. Evidence that you wish the arbitrators to consider should be added to the evidence subpage, at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Gamaliel and others/Evidence.
Please add your evidence by May 2, 2016, which is when the evidence phase closes. You can also contribute to the case workshop subpage, Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Gamaliel and others/Workshop. For a guide to the arbitration process, see Wikipedia:Arbitration/Guide to arbitration. This notification is being sent to those listed on the case notification list. If you do not wish to recieve further notifications, you are welcome to opt-out on that page. - Wow. I don't know what to say. Really have to stop the lame April Fool jokes. Coretheapple (talk) 03:03, 22 April 2016 (UTC)
- Maybe so. April Fools' jokes are so pervasive on Wikipedia and the internet generally on every April 1 that one can see why the Signpost wanted to join in, and that no ill-will was intended. What's hard to fathom is why anyone wanted to fight the Signpost so hard about it, which makes one think there were old feuds contributing to it, but figuring that out would require more time than we have to live. I've done dumb things many times, and never got such flack for it. It really shouldn't be that hard for editors to get along, the first step of any dispute should be a discussion about it, not the invocation of deletion processes or edit wars.--Milowent • hasspoken 20:03, 22 April 2016 (UTC)

Editor of the Week : nominations needed!
The Editor of the Week initiative has been recognizing editors since 2013 for their hard work and dedication. Editing Wikipedia can be disheartening and tedious at times; the weekly Editor of the Week award lets its recipients know that their positive behaviour and collaborative spirit is appreciated. The response from the honorees has been enthusiastic and thankful.
The list of nominees is running short, and so new nominations are needed for consideration. Have you come across someone in your editing circle who deserves a pat on the back for improving article prose regularly, making it easier to understand? Or perhaps someone has stepped in to mediate a contentious dispute, and did an excellent job. Do you know someone who hasn't received many accolades and is deserving of greater renown? Is there an editor who does lots of little tasks well, such as cleaning up citations?
Please help us thank editors who display sustained patterns of excellence, working tirelessly in the background out of the spotlight, by submitting your nomination for Editor of the Week today!

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Bobby Darin, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Washington Heights. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Sadly, the Haavara page is under attack again by an aggressive, POV editor. Certainly the page needs improvement, but the tendency to anti-Semitic POV editing and Nazi apologetics on that page -s appalling - not to mention bad history.E.M.Gregory (talk) 00:15, 2 May 2016 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Gamaliel and others closed
An arbitration case regarding Gamaliel and others has now closed and the final decision is viewable at the link above. The following remedies have been enacted:
- Gamaliel is admonished for multiple breaches of Wikipedia policies and guidelines including for disrupting Wikipedia to make a point, removing a speedy deletion notice from a page he created, casting aspersions, and perpetuating what other editors believed to be a BLP violation.
- DHeyward and Gamaliel are indefinitely prohibited from interacting with or discussing each other anywhere on Wikipedia, subject to the usual exemptions.
- DHeyward (talk · contribs) is admonished for engaging in incivility and personal attacks on other editors. He is reminded that all editors are expected to engage respectfully and civilly with each other and to avoid making personal attacks.
- For conduct which was below the standard expected of an administrator — namely making an incivil and inflammatory close summary on ANI, in which he perpetuated the perceived BLP violation and failed to adequately summarise the discussion — JzG is admonished.
- Arkon is reminded that edit warring, even if exempt, is rarely an alternative to discussing the dispute with involved editors, as suggested at WP:CLOSECHALLENGE.
- The community is encouraged to hold an RfC to supplement the existing WP:BLPTALK policy by developing further guidance on managing disputes about material involving living persons when that material appears outside of article space and is not directly related to article-content decisions.
