Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button
located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 05:36, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hi (in response to your question today), just follow the instructions above. ~ (tilde) is found on many keyboards to the left of the standard typewriter configuration. On my standard Microsoft keyboard, it's to the left of the number one, as the shift character above " ` ". On another user's, it was to the left of "Z". Or use the virtual buttons above the open box that opens a Wikipedia talk-page for editing. The signature button can be found halfway between those for square root and "#R". A third way is to copy the code for the message above this one: type "&" followed immediately by "126;" four times in uninterrupted succession, which is the same as ~~~~ and come out as (in my own case) as "—— Shakescene (talk) 22:47, 5 June 2009 (UTC)". Once you find ~, try typing one, two, three, four, five and six tildes to see what happens, as below:
- ~
- ~~

New topics
P.S. if you're starting a new topic, it's usually a good idea to either click the "new section" tab at the very top of the article or talk (discussion) page, or enter a new header manually by entering a title between two pairs of equal-signs thus: "==[title name]==". For an example, see the new header I just entered for this section. —— Shakescene (talk) 22:54, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
