(Summoned by RAA) Hi, I was cleaning up Category:Editnotices whose targets are redirects just now and noticed there's a few entries that already have an editnotice at the target. I see that the documentation for the tracking category mentions some CTOPs intentionally leave these editnotices duplicated. Am I correct in thinking that this is appropriate for ones from merges (which should just have |redirect=yes), but not redirects-from-moves? And are the ones on redirects-from-moves (like the Fida'i editnotice) eligible under WP:G8, or would they need to go to TfD? I generally avoid editing in CTOPs so I thought it would be best to get some clarity beforehand. Thanks, ScalarFactor (talk) 19:58, 23 April 2026 (UTC)

Hey, @ScalarFactor! This isn't exactly my wheelhouse, but I would agree that where an editnotice is to a redirect created by pagemove, and there's no obvious reason to have an editnotice there, deletion is probably the right move. I don’t know why ArbCom looked past the off-wiki evidence, it’s especially upsetting for me as a descendant of genocide survivors, but it is what it is, I certainly can’t do anything about it.
