Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Battle of the Volturno, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page French. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hi Giovanni Messe. Thank you for your work on Mendonça Furtado. Another editor, Mariamnei, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Thank you for your work on this article. While I think that "The Oxford Encyclopedia of Brazilian History and Culture" is probably enough to establish notability, please add more sources and footnotes to back up each claim with a reliable source. Thanks and have a good day!

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with Mariamnei. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Mariamnei (talk) 09:03, 11 December 2025 (UTC)

@Mariamnei: Thanks for taking a look at the article. I’ll add more reliable sources and make sure each claim is properly supported. Could you let me know the minimum number of additional sources you’d prefer so I can update it accordingly? Giovanni Messe (talk) 07:26, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for the second source. I can't give you a specific number, but I would say a ballpark of 3-5 sources is usually appropriate. Have a good day! Mariamnei (talk) 09:29, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

Italian forces on the Eastern Front

I saw you have been creating articles about the CSIR. Please always link to the respective Italian units involved in these battles. Wikipedia has articles for all Italian WWII divisions and articles for all Italian Army regiments active after 1945 (Please note that all unit names below are correct for the 1939 to 1943 timeframe). The CSIR units you should link to are:

Your contributed article, Italian invasion of Monaco

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Italian invasion of Monaco. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – :{article}. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at :{article}. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Fram (talk) 15:26, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

March on Gondar

Hi thanks for creating this article. When we translate or borrow from other language wikis it’s a requirement to acknowledge the source. The best way to do this is to include it in your edit summary (e.g. “translated from it.wiki”) and there’s also a translation template you can add to the talk page. I’ve made the necessary edit for you. Happy editing and please leave a message on my talk page if you need any help Mccapra (talk) 08:26, 1 January 2026 (UTC)

Sources

Hi, thank you for your contributions. Regarding this edit of yours, please see this discussion, as "Publifye AS" publishes AI-generated books with no human review, thus their books are unreliable (per these guidelines). Please be more careful in the future when dealing with book sources; always make sure to verify the credibility of its publisher and the authors (one of the authors is listed as "AI"). Thank you. Hi Giovanni Messe. Thank you for your work on Siege of Alessandria (1799). Another editor, Scope creep, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

I'm reviwed this article. The references are bit of a mess in the bib section. You've used "work" as a field property which is not used. For example, the title should Histoire critique et militaire des guerres de la révolution and the "chapter" should be Campagne de 1799 – Première Période.

Also your using the volume number in the sfn tag. That is non-standard. Set the dates to 1822a, 1822b is the normal harvard standard ref and use it in the sfn tag as 1822a.

I was planning to establish a further reading section. Gachot for example isn't used and could go in. Mikaberidze doesn't seem to be used either.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with Scope creep. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Capture of Korçë moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Capture of Korçë. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and the article relies heavily on a wartime newspaper and the diaries of a participant. Thanks for your contributions to Capture of Gallabat (1940). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and it is likely that this article largely synthesises trivial mentions in general histories of the East African campaign to create an article. Capture of Dabel

Ciao Giovanni. I am a little concerned about your article "Capture of Dabel". I suspect that topic does not have sufficient coverage in terms of WP:GNG, as with the other articles of yours above. However, that is not a big problem, you can provide more sources or the text can be added elsewhere or whatever.

However, I am really worried about Capture of Dabel. The lede says the article is about the Italian capture of the place, but the body simply does not discuss this. No details whatsoever of the capture, or even mention of it, were in the article. Did you use an AI program to summarise the contents of the sources in the bibliography regarding Dabel? If so, you really must not do this. Boynamedsue (talk) 07:07, 22 March 2026 (UTC)

I did use A.I to summarise the content which is a rookie mistake but did not use it for bibliography however I will ensure you this will not happen in future. And about Italian occupation, Dabel was attacked by Britishers not italians, they defended it against the enemies. Marshal of Italy talk 07:15, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for your honesty. Can I take it you've been using AI in your other new articles? Boynamedsue (talk) 07:24, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
yes you can I will soon rephrase them in human language once I am free Marshal of Italy talk 07:30, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
Ok, thanks. The best way to do this is to go to your created articles and ensure that the claims sourced in each one are supported in the sources.
You need to avoid using AI summaries at all, it can lead to very confusing and off the point text like at Capture of Dobel. It really needs to be a simple "stop" with AI from now on.
Also, you should read WP:GNG to check on the requirements to include a new article. Most (not all) of your recent "Capture of...." articles are of questionable notability. A good rule of thumb is 2 whole paragraphs dedicated to the subject of the article in two secondary sources independent of each other. The Capture of Gallabat article did have this, for example.Boynamedsue (talk) 08:09, 22 March 2026 (UTC)

Just to let you know, I am moving your unreviewed new articles (usually the very new ones) to draft space so you can fix the AI usage on them. Check the sources and restructure the articles so they are logical. I will tag the new articles you have created that are already reviewed with an AI template. When you have checked the sourcing and restructured the text, you can remove the template.Boynamedsue (talk) 08:17, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
