Thanks for being receptive. We don't use "Mr." on Wikipedia, per MOS:MR. There's an extra space and comma in that sentence. In the lead of that article, it already mentions the impeachment. Treason and sedition may be able to go in, but those are just investigations. 아 저는 현재 미국에 살고 있습니다. 네 많이 빈약 편입니다... 여러 통계로 보입니다.

Wikipedia:WikiProject Korea#Article assessment 이 표에서 영어 위키백과에서 한국과 관련된 총 페이지 수를 확인할 수 있습니다 (현재 57,681개). 근데 일본이 124,794개 있고, 중국이 103,418개 있습니다. 하지만 서양인들이 일본에 불균형적으로 관심을 가지고 있기 때문에 일본은 이례적인 경우입니다. 베트남은 17,793개 있습니다.

또한, 이 표들에서 기사 품질 등급을 확인할 수 있습니다. FA, GA가 최고 급, Stub이 최하. FA/GA 등급을 받기 어렵습니다. 다른 사용자는 귀하의 기사를 자세히 검토한 다음 할당해야 합니다. 일본이 FA가 많은 편입니다; 열 배 더 많습니다.

아마 한국에서는 위키백과 말고 다른 위키 서비스가 더 인기가 있는데 그러다보니 한국어 위키백과 내용은 부실해지게 되고 그래서 영어 문서도 이 영향을 받지 않나 추측해봅니다. 저도 같은 생각입니다.

However, there are so many more hundreds of them, and I couldn't find a comprehensive list. There are so many that I doubt they all have notability, but they might work as a list. I found that list too, but it doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for. For example, I was also looking at creating an article for the Tamnasullyeokdo (탐라순력도), which is supposedly Treasure No. 652-6 (보물 제652-6호). CMD (talk) 08:22, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

To my understanding, the "652-6" is counting the total number of treasures across all of South Korea. ko:대한민국의 보물 lists over 2000 treasures. ko:대한민국의 보물 (1970년대 후반) has 652, and ko:이형상 수고본 lists 652-6. seefooddiet (talk) 08:28, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

Oh wow, those are nice articles. The etymology part of Bangsatap is very enlightening; I don't think I ever came across the word bangsatap, but did come across dap and geobuk. I think he's likely notable by enwiki standards but would need to research more in depth. Given the drama in that family I imagine there's adequate sourcing.

I think Safari Scribe's comment is applicable: The sources were all about HD Hyundai, hence WP:NOTINHERIT applies here. On a quick search I'm also having a hard time finding a source that discusses him significantly in depth separately from HD Hyundai. I encourage you to add sources to that effect and add them. [22] (the 조선비즈 source) probably has the most discussion of him separately from the context of anything Hyundai related. I haven't looked in detail through many of the sources though; there's a lot to read. Sure. Sources [4] (Fortune Korea) and [6] (Hankyung Business) provide more detailed discussions of his role, while other news sources mention him in various business contexts, albeit to a lesser extent.

However, the documentation of Template:Interlanguage link states that it should not be used in citation templates because it pollutes the COinS metadata they produce. Respectfully disagree with the need for that; that bit showing is just a sample of the raw changes that my WP:AWB script makes. That bit is a highly visible notice for me to manually fix something that my script doesn't fully capture. I always successfully remove that notice from the actual edit itself. At this edit, your script broke references 112 and 113. {{Korean}} has a note, right at the top of its documentation that says that the template should not be used in cs1|2 templates. In this particular case, the Korean text is already correctly marked-up because it is in |script-title=.

I'm not too worried about scoping, that is a matter for the article not the title. It's more wondering how to pick what to translate. For example, "Special Self-Governing Province" seems to be often in the official Korean names, but doesn't always make it into English, such as common reference to the "Jeju police" in English news reports. That said, "Jeju Province" is certainly more wp:concise, so that may be the way to go, so perhaps I'll duplicate that list on a free day. Do you reckon 용담지석묘s 1-6 are all independently notable? Hi @Seefooddiet, I revised the commissioning date of the Kyŏngguk taejŏn from 1460 to 1458, based on this source, which seems solid enough.

The same source gives specific revision dates as follows: "By order of King Sŏngjong, it was revised successively in 1469, 1471, 1481 and finally published in 1485."

I think these are slightly different to the dates in the article, which currently don't have citations. However, I don't know enough about this area to make the appropriate revisions (if required). Perhaps it is something you could look at. merlinVtwelve (talk) 22:00, 20 April 2025 (UTC)

From quick research, my guess is that the current Wikipedia article is accurate.

This source from a National Institute of Korean History website says that 1469 was when a revision was ordered, but that revision wasn't carried out because the king that ordered it died. The next king ordered a revision that began (I think? text is kinda contradictory) in 1470 and was completed in 1471, called the Sinmyo taejŏn (matches current Wikipedia article). This link doesn't mention 1481 nor any year around that; it does mention 1485 though.

If we really wanted to make this definite, we could find the original Veritable Records of the Joseon Dynasty entries (they've been translated into modern Korean) describing what was done when. seefooddiet (talk) 23:28, 20 April 2025 (UTC)

Thanks for getting the SD down to 40 characters. I think you misunderstood my edit summary. I wasn't concerned that you wanted to get the SD down to 40 characters. I was quite concerned, however, with your wording. "Candidate" is not a good description of papabile. All cardinals are "candidates". Papabile are those that are most likely to become pope. I also disagree that having one or two characters over 40 will cause the SD to "get truncated in notable places". If the SD was 50 or 60 characters I would agree with you, but not 42 or 43 Nor do I think that accuracy in wording (i.e., not using the word "candidate") is being "sternly told what to do". I had converted the lunar dates found in the sources into Gregorian dates using the converter provided in Wikipedia:WikiProject Korea, and then applied the MOS:DATEFORMAT. So, your edit applied MOS:KO-CALENDAR format to what are actually Gregorian dates. Fbgpwns5277 (talk) 20:51, 24 May 2025 (UTC)

Ah shoot. The date converter recommended at WP:KO we determined is probably unreliable for historical studies. See this comment (the full discussion may also be of interest to you). W/r/t the file name, that edit was made through WP:AWB; there's unfortunately no way to preview rendered output in AWB. I appreciate you catching the error. While using AWB, my script sometimes makes hundreds of changes on a single page, so it's often easy for me to miss single mistakes like that. I reverted about 20 articles. The problem comes from putting Infobox Korean name/auto inside |footnotes=. That parameter opens a div tag in one table cell and closes it in a different table cell. You can see the results if you put the whole Infobox country section in Special:ExpandTemplates. (P.S. Possibly. I've said this before, but I'd rather Wikipedians not spend much time on him past the bare minimum. Neurotic attention seekers like him are everywhere nowadays. They relish even negative attention; by giving him all this exposure, even on Wikipedia, we're giving him what he wants. Better to just spend bare minimum on upkeep for the article, then otherwise ignore and move on. More societally beneficial things that need attention.
